    Tim Cahill is a great player. 34 years old, and has always given his all in the thankless task that is playing footie for the Aussies. Gutted that we could not persuade him to join us.

    The socceroos ( I know, crap name) have done the country proud! They said we wouldn't even score a goal in the WC. They just have a never say die attitude over here, the ANZAC spirit. It's a squad of young lads bar a couple of stars, most who play in the lower leagues of Europe and even in the A league over here, what they lacked in quality they made up with effort and commitment.

    Ange is a superb coach (NOT manager) and Oz will be up there soon. I'd fancy Oz against any of the mid tier teams. Brilliant performance tonight, but we don't want to fall into the trap of 'we played well and were a bit unlucky', a la Inglaterra of the past. Asian Cup next year could be interesting. Leckie has Championship/Premier written all over him.
