    What terribly sad news. Goffin and King were almost certainly responsible for my discovering American music in the very early 1960's, a love that endures to this day.

    I think it was "Up On The Roof" by the Drifters that started it all for me.

    Timeless classics, many of which I'll be listening to today. RIP.
