What terribly sad news. Goffin and King were almost certainly responsible for my discovering American music in the very early 1960's, a love that endures to this day.

I think it was "Up On The Roof" by the Drifters that started it all for me.

Timeless classics, many of which I'll be listening to today. RIP.

RIP. Was only through listening to the various news reports yesterday that I realised how truly influential and widespread his work was.
