Things we learnt from the 2nd Week of the World Cup

Comments

  • 1. Referees have not been instructed to wave red cards around
    2. African teams can shoot hard from further away than Europeans
    3. Only 9 out of 48 games have ended in draw. Yet, games have generally been close except for one or two surprises. (Let's hope the last 16 isn't full of penalty shoot outs)

The Central and South American teams that have upset form books tend to play a very high line, something I've been advocating for years. Either need a pacy defence or a belief that if CCC strikers were decent at 1 on 1s, they'd be in the EPL or a decent keeper which Pope is.
  • Kris Kamara has a decent turn of pace for his age.

Hodgson has no shame! Makes a mug out of us not resigning. England is the best managers job in world football - one of the highest paid with low expectations - so you can fail and still get paid!
