I'd be very surprised to see Riga there come Christmas.

Why, does he look good in a beard ?

Yep he turns into Jose Santa Claus

  • jose riga should not have gone to blackpool. 8 senior players, they are surely favourites for the drop.

Defenders: Gary MacKenzie, Tony McMahon, Charles Dunne

    Midfielder: David Perkins

Forwards: Steven Davies, Bobby Grant, Sergei Zenjov, Tom Barkhuizen

No secret that Jose will be playing the 3-1-4 formation this season then.......................

Are they the only players he has at present?! He should do a runner just tell the press he fell out with the chairman or something.

Blackpool should just prepare for league 1.

The Chairman is right, that is the dream situation when a manager joins a new club... on Football Manager

Seems to me like Jose needs some devined intervention.

Let's all hope he turns to the church for answers..................

Considering 50% of their squad are strikers it seems unfortunately unlikely that they'll look to come after our sponge

He was a fool to take the job and seriously questions his judgement. Hope he gets out of that burning house without getting too burnt.

Think we should take Perkins off their hands, their midfield is looking a little crowded.

Make you right, he had a blinder playing for Barnsley when they beat us at The Valley a couple of seasons back.

Riga has left after five weeks as he has fallen out with owner, Karl Oyston. According to ITV, Oyston could sack Riga if Riga does not leave on his own accord. This leaves Blackpool with only eight players, which doesn’t include any goalkeepers, and no Manager.

Riga was appointed Manager five weeks ago by Oyston, when he left Charlton Athletic to join Blackpool. Riga is annoyed by Oyston as he has not allowed Riga to make any signings, and has lost the majority of their players.

Consequently, Oystons cut backs has reduced the Blackpool squad to only eight players, and rumours were going round with reports of only two players still being at the club.

Another consequence is that the squad will be ill prepared, as they have had to cancel all of their pre season matches for the time being. This will have a financial affect as the club may lose some money as they wont play the match, which had money from various sponsors.

It is obviously that the fans aren’t happy with Oyston, as there has been claims for over 500 season ticket refunds. This shows that the club is going into a downward spiral and isn’t going to be helped until Oyston gives the club money to spend.

By the way things are going there may not be a Blackpool F.C soon, if they don’t have a suitable team to compete this season.
  • Good luck Jose. Like the cut of your jib. Will be applauded by me when our paths cross as an opponents manager. I actually feel sorry for Pool fans. They have mostly had crap for a lifetime and a few months in the Prem, then free falling. I can see another Pompey type collapse coming on.
  • jose riga, such a seemingly nice man, pity he chose to suffer an oaf like oyston.

I feel like Riga's been messed around a lot in his managerial career. And he seems like such a nice guy too.

I agree with those who say Riga's been messed around. He is a very nice guy to meet, very charming. Still wish he was our boss!

I wonder how much (if any) due diligence Riga did on the club and its owners before signing up? A quick Google search would have made it clear this was a poisoned chalice.

I dont get the comments about wishing he was still our manager, dont get me wrong I am grateful he kept us up
and yes he seems like a nice man, but wishing that makes it seem like you want bob to fail so you can say I told you so,
RD decided not to keep him on and appointed Bob can we please just be grateful Riga kept us up but MOVE ON its Big Bobs tuirn to prove himself now.

Going back to the original thread get out Jose while u still can and leave with some credibility.
