Young English players with potential are so overpaid that it undermines their motivation to improve and succeed. After all, if you are on £20k a week in say QPR's B Team, and all your pre-football mates are looking for work or earning less than that in a whole year, you are going to think you have made it, aren't you? I dont reckon the Colombian or Costa Rican prospects suffer from that in quite the same way.
What Mills doesn't understand is that the stockpiling of prospects without actually letting them play is a big part of the problem and there are many creative ways of preventing this waste. But putting a few of them out against journeymen pros week in week out is obviously not one of them.
Agree with most things on here! Would have been in favour of the hoddle idea until he said his central midfield partnership in the world cup would be gerrard and lampard I mean come on! How can anyone not see that is wrong.. never worked and never will!
