Ratings of our signings so far and other possible signings to join!
And also who else is there that will come in before the season starts?
I believe we need at least 4 more players ...

Ben Haim will most probably sign tomorrow (I know, I know..)
Johann Gudmunsson who's just out of contract at AZ should sign in the next 48hours should all go well. Goals on youtube, strong left winger.
Think that won't be quite all, may be wrong.0 -
I think, by October ,the moaners on here will be having a field day. That is all2

I still think we could do with another striker also, I'm not sure if you agree?Atletico Addick said:Ben Haim will most probably sign tomorrow (I know, I know..)

Welcome to the board @cafc_902

Rumours of a season loan deal for a Spammer striker as part of the DP compo deal - Vaz Te or Maiga.0
-
This season more than any other - we can't possibly have a clue how we will do. It will all come down to the ability of our scouts. That is an area I need convincing in unfortunately, but you never know.0
-
Will all be about the sum of the parts and how tactically astute BP is in his first Championship management season. That said, man for man, I do not see us ina worse position than this time last season. Ventekole, Moussa and Buyens could be very good.0
-
Regardless of how good these players are the fact that they're almost getting a full Pre-Season together with our existing players can only be a good thing... One of our issues last season was we did our business so late in the Summer and were forced to bring in emergency players during the January Window meaning we were always playing catch-up.
Reckon come the Portsmouth game Peeters will pretty much know his line-up for the Brentford game (Whereas Powell didnt know his for the Bournemouth game last year cos we were still trying to get Strikers)2 -
Right about one, sure I'll be right about the next. Bodies through the door..Atletico Addick said:Ben Haim will most probably sign tomorrow (I know, I know..)

Surely if its all pretty much a signed deal (Even if an hour before the game against Welling) Could Gudmunsson still make an appearance this Saturday if as a trialist if need be?
i.e. Its not like a League match where players have to received clearance and paperwork has to be sent off etc... before they're allowed to play (like Polish Pete v Wigan)0 -
I gave @cafc_90 his first like.0

Still will need goalie, creative midfielder and centre forward0
-
We need another striker (absolute priority, in my view), a winger (hopefully the Icelandic guy is imminent) and a goalie to compete with Nick Pope. Another attacking midfield player would be good but, subject to those three additions, we could probably go with that.
There may also be scope to bolster the squad in the January window, if necessary, and our position in the market may be stronger relative to certain Championship clubs by virtue of the application of Financial Fair Play.0 -
Not sure why, as I haven't seen much of any of them, but quite excited by our midfield this season. Looks to have some attacking flair and with Cousins bombing on this season and experience of JJ, it's looking good.0

under to over to whelmed
Vetokele - 8
Buyens - 7
Bikey - 6.5
Gudmunsson - 9
TBH - 5
Moussa - 7.5
overall happiness - 82 -
First real transfer window since RD took over (as feet weren't really under the table in January) and we've lost the likes of Pritchard and Danny Green... and bought in Moussa and Gudmundsson, which is progress by anyone's measure. The Poyet situation was unfortunate but entirely of Diego's own making so far as I can tell, the club could not have done more/differently to keep him here - and have at least got JC tied down to stop lightning striking twice. Wood and Cort lost from the back, in come Bikey and Ben Haim - maybe not a huge step up but by no means a step down, and Dervite's absence means Gomez looks likely to be the next Academy graduate to make an impact.
Still on the shopping list is a target man and a goalkeeper, probably people will add more but those two are the priorities for me. The alibre of signings thus far has been impressive, 3-4 more of the same and a top half finish will seem the bare minimum of expectations.2 -
sniffing about playoffs this season I reckon0

Solid signings. Important thing is that they're not a downgrade on what we've let go. Good ages, mix of experience and youth, some have good English experience, a couple of potential leaders. Promising certainly.0

Like the signings so far but not sure about tbh we are his 10th club but like to be proved wrong!0

I'm liking the fact that we're getting much of our shopping done while it's still early in the pre-season.
Getting the new lads on the plane to Spain is no doubt the plan.
The traditional Charlton initation should be a right larf.

TBH is the dodgiest of the bunch and he's no worse than Dervitte was when he started, or Cort ever was; so overall things are looking up.
Pleased also that there might be a faint chance of getting a brew at half-time for the first time in 16 years if the new catering contractor delivers on its promise of "trained staff" fingers crossed eh?0
