  • My view on it is he's a similar asset to Franck Moussa, mouldable enough to swap wings and is happy to be on either, whip of a left foot on him but can use his right, but let's hold for someone who knows him better than anyone. Once he gets board admission lol.

    The new Danny Green.

    Underwhelmed.

    What?
The YouTube footage shows 1 thing - he is class. He gets into good areas and he scores bloody good goals.
My only question - why isn't he in the Premier League?

    (Unless you jest?)
As @Swisdom said he's not a prolific goalscorer, and what about the rest of his game, is that Prem standard?

On his interview on CAFC Player he talks about playing regularly. I think that was probably very important to him, but with a 2 year deal he keeps his options open.
Yes I agree fully, but he can do it at international level. Each of those goals v Switzerland were so good in different ways.
I repeat - he is CLASS! Much more to offer the team than previous signings IMOH.

As much as his goal compilations are rather tasty - we need to bear in mind that he is not that prolific a goalscorer. He just seems to get worldy's when he does score!

We don't want to heap too much pressure on him

So a bit like Cameron Stewart but better!
  • he looks to have a sweet left peg
us left footed players look soooo much classsier than right footed players
  • But he's not from the network :-(
  • Great name
  • edited July 2014
People have gotta give him time though. I'm all for being very positive but we all know how inconsistent wingers can be.
  • Looks very exciting - the benefits of a much broader scouting system and contacts than we previously had, plus Roland stumping up what was presumably a substantial signing on fee.

Very good to get these players on board before the squad departs for Spain. Something of a contrast to last year, when we signed Churchy and Sordell 2 or 3 days before the season opener at Bournemouth.

We now look to be gathering some real momentum. Hopefully, it will encourage people who are wavering to commit to a season ticket.
  • Dutch top flight club with Europa league experience, and he leaves that for us! Bob mustbe selling a good message:-)

  • Soon Jacko will be the only player left at Charlton without International or European experience!

  • Shame we could not have kept Poyet, still think we need a CMF player ie,Scholes,Keen, also with due respects to Pope think a top Goalkeeper would be nice.
  • do the G21 have a meeting planned? RD ripping the heart out of the Club, no signings, no investment on the pitch, academy a joke etc. Bring back TJ

Ooooh, you are nawty, Large !

    But I like you ...

    :-)

  • Yeah

    Free transfer was it not?

Yeah he rejected a new contract at AZ and was out of contract this summer for a new challenge. Not going to say anything...

4 seasons later, not 4 months later

There will be ups and downs this season but you can be certain that with our current attacking options there will be days when we tear teams apart.

The buzz word is "bumpy" Addicted.

  • There is no such thing as a free transfer...

Not a criticism here, as you said free transfers do not exist.

Players from abroad get 'relocation' costs...............
  • I like what were doing at the moment. Fantastic to see investment in our great club. After being really dubious about RD, I cant help but now be impressed with his business methods. Some hard almost ruthless decisions made but tbh im feeling quite optimistic about the season ahead. Might even have a little flutter on promotion!
  • RD out!

This is pretty much where I am. Really looking forward to the season now.

Maybe but perhaps he's been to the Isle of Wight on holiday..
  • Time for me to make a comment on all the latest transfer activity............GET IN.....this guy will be mustard in my opinion....looking forward to the new season with 'guarded' enthusiasm......we have made some quality signings so far..i agree we still need a target man and a keeper with experience...but so far so good.....COYR's
  • Looking good for the new season and more importantly good vibes for the long term future of the club.

When RD first came in did not the SL fans come on this very forum and say "you won't like what he's going to do to your club but in time you will"? Let's hope the next part of what they said about wining the league is as prophetic!!
  • Quietly impressed by all of this. Don't get me wrong, this bloke, Buyens, Vetokele et al may well turn out to be duds but this feels much more exciting than last season. Bring it on.
  • I work with an Icelandic bloke who is a life long mate of Herman from our prem days and evidently this guy is good with bags of promise
