I hadn't appreciated until listening to Jason Euell's interview on Player just now that the Development League is being expanded this year to include northern teams. The result will be an increase in the number and regularity of competitive fixtures, which can only be a good thing for our youngsters. It is certainly better than having to scratch around for local friendlies, where the quality of the opposition can be vary variable.
The new fixtures for 2014/15 have not yet been posted on the Official Site but there will certainly be many more opportunities to get along to Sparrow's Lane this season to watch the team.

This season, league rules state that four league games must be played at the home ground of each respective club, and The Valley will play host to the visit of Sheffield United on Monday, October 13th (1pm), Cardiff City on Monday, November 10th (1pm), Crewe Alexandra on Monday, March 16th (2pm) and the final game of the season against Brentford on Tuesday, April 14th (2pm).
Or have Celtic and Rangers finally managed to get into the Premier League (Just not the actual Division they want to be in?)
They will also play each team from the other league once.
