Steve Brown maybe?
Always puzzled that Luke Young never gets mentioned on these lists - played around 200 games, former club captain, 7 England caps, surely that's all the makings of a club legend.2 -

FYI - John Thomas Thornton Shreeve was, however, referred to as Jack as there was already a John in the team when he signed from Boldon upon the recommendation of his best mate - Mr Sam Bartram.

Rufus
Robinson (John)
Powell (Chris)

are legends to those who have seen them play and to those who have been told of their exploits.
Players like:
Smith (Norman)
"Squib" Hammond
Kinsey
Berry (Les)
Leaburn
Brown (Steve)
Kishishev
Young (Luke)
gave great service but somehow never quite got the credit or recognition they deserved.
I'm sure I've missed someone important !!
EDIT: I might mean Hirst rather than Hurst. Gordon of that ilk anyway. I've also missed out a Bent on the second list. Can you guess which one?!

In my time watching Charlton:
Paul Mortimer
Steve Brown
John Robinson
Clive Mendonca
Mark Kinsella
Carl Leaburn
Richard Rufus
Dean Kiely
Scott Parker
Claus Jensen
Chris Powell
Johnnie Jackson
Yann Kermorgant
Jensen and Kermorgant may not have played a ton of games for us, but their quality and skill will always mean I have them in high regard.
Chris Powell is number one by a long stretch.1 -

Been supporting charlton since early nineties.. so for me curbs is top of the pile.

Simon Webster
Rufus
Leaburn
Andy hunt
Super clive
Robinson
Claus jensen
Darren bent
Dean kiely0 -
At the risk of being branded pedantic I can understand you putting Curbs top of the pile of a thread entitled "Charlton Legends" but this one is "Players who you consider to be Charlton legends."Coveredendchoir said:Been supporting charlton since early nineties.. so for me curbs is top of the pile.

As a "player" for us Curbs was alright but nothing special.1 -
Saw JJ at London Bridge this morning actually.1

Legend is a 'big' word !...therefore should be reserved to a select few - a lot of the people mentioned are just also-rans in my view in comparison the the following...
Sam Bartram
Jimmy Seed
John Hewie
Eddie Firmani
Keith Peacock
Killer
Super Clive
With maybe Curbs thrown in, these are the real 'legends' of CAFC- people who grabbed hold of it by the neck and changed the club.0
