They were discussing managers / characters on the radio the other night and they used Ian Holloway as an example. They said when he was in the prem with Blackpool, there was always a nugget from him splashed over one paper or another, but you rarely hear anything these days. They said wouldn't be down to a change in approach, just that the amount of people at the prem press day would be 20, and at Millwall it would be something like 4 local guys. He just doesn't get the exposure now.

The odd time a bloke from the Standard puts in an appearance and you can also occasionally get random unknown attendees like a Belgian reporter who turned up about a month ago to speak with Peeters.
Holloway I will keep my counsel on as I'm having a few difficulties getting access to him this year, something which needs to be sorted quickly.
The bottom line is though if you aren't in the Premier League you are considered an irrelevance by the mainstream national media.
And even when in the Premier League there is no guarantee the exposure is going to be about your team, something Curbishley always used to complain about.
For example this morning I was one of about 15/20 media people at Warnock's pre-match press conference for their game with Everton this weekend. Lots of questions asked about Everton but very few about Palace.
