edited April 2007 in General Charlton
Saturday 18th April 1981. Fulham 1 (1) (Coney 9) Charlton Athletic 0 (0). Craven Cottage Att:7,102

Fulham: Stannard, Lock, (O'Driscoll 65) Strong, Peters, Brown, Clement, Davies, Beck, Coney, Wilson, Lewington.

Charlton: Johns, Gritt, Warman, Madden, Berry, Tydeman, Powell, Walsh, Hales, Naylor, Robinson. Unused sub: Smith.

Referee: Alan Gunn (Burgess Hill, East Sussex)

Sent off: Hales was sent off in the 89th minute for a second bookable offence following an alleged foul on Lewington. It seemed a harsh decision on Hales who had already been booked in the 36th minute for a foul on Stannard. As a result, Hales faced his third suspension of the season.

Injured: As he left the field, referee Allan Gunn was toppled over after being struck on the head by a coin.

I know the bloke who threw the coin at Gunn (and it wasn't me). There were hardly any windows left in the cottage at the end of the game either. The local glaziers must have made a mint that weekend.
