Alcorcón v Osasuna, 11th October

After last week's 2-1 loss away to Recreativo Huelva, Alcorcón are in action tonight against Osusuna.

Osasuna have had a mixed start to a season in which they were expected to be one of the front runners after last year's relegation. A win for Alcorcón could push them close to the play off places in a very tight league.

Unlike in England, Spanish second division continues during international week.

Will post score later for those who are interested.

Comments

  • Alcorcón two nil up at half time after two quality goals from David Rodríguez. He looks like he could maybe do a good job in the Championship.
  • Was released by brighton last year
  • Finished 2-0, an impressive result against a big name. Rodríguez has scored a few this season and both goals today were class, the second a stylish lob over the keeper from outside the box.

What happened on the 47th minute
2 yellows for Osasuna and a red
    1 yellow for Alcorcón

sounds like it was a dirty game as well Osasuna finishing with 2 reds and 7 yellows
as well as 4 for Alcorcón

Osasuna certainly lived up to the reputation they had in La Liga for being 'physical'. Straight red for a punch from one of theirs after 47 minutes with a bit of afters from other players. Another sending off later for a second booking.

Only 2736 at the Santo Domingo tonight. The Ebola infection in Alcorcón will have meant football is not many people's priority at the moment.

They signed him January this year, he played 10 games and scored 1 goal

So, the nurse in Madrid is in Alcorcon ? Must admit, it did come over as sounding a bit like Libreville !!
  • Yes, she is from Alcorcón and the hospital there is the one affected as well as a hospital in central Madrid. Her apartment block has been sealed off as well. I have a friend who lives in Alcorcón and he says there is a really tense feeling there at the moment.
  • Read your Alcorcon reports with interest. My sister lives in Almeria province. One day if i'm ever passing through will try to look up the stadium.
  • Will actually be watching the Alcorcón B team play today as they are away at the fourth division team I go to in Madrid. That is far too niche to merit a match thread though!
