Tonight's Evening Standard reports that Millwall chief executive Andy Ambler believes Football League clubs should follow the top flight's lead and consider playing fixtures abroad. You might need to read that several times. I did.
"I just wonder if there is an argument to take the Football League around the world ..... it has to be worth exploring." he says.
"At Championship level in particular, I think we need to realise that our product is exceptional", he explained.
AFC Wimbledon v Bury in Shanghai in the middle of March probably is a bit of a stretch, but the Lions versus, say, Huddersfield Town would really pull them in I'm sure.

This numpty is now on the Football League board. I'm sure he'll get laughed at when he raises this possibility, but I can't even begin to imagine how anybody could think this makes any sense whatsoever, on any level.
