Saturday, Tuesday, Friday

Is that not pushing it a bit ?

I am surprised we are allowed / forced to play 3 games in such quick succession - are there not laws / guidelines ?

If we'd had long away trips for Tuesday and Friday would it have happened ?

Same as over Christmas usually though PL54. Always a short space between games at that time of year, so why not now as well.

Also gives me the opportunity to get pissed three times in a week.

Same for Fulham and includes a Tuesday night trip to Rotherham.

Everyone else is playing 3 games in 8 days.(Bar Rotherham and Leeds. 3 games in 9 days)

Suck it up and get on with it.

For years teams in England have been playing sat, tues, sat at times throughout the season so bringing the last sat game forward by 24 hours is not an issue for me. Plus the you are dictated to by SKY as they pay the clubs so they have to dance to SKY's tune with regards to change of fixtures. Not ideal but at least we don't have an away trip to Leeds on the Tuesday night for example.

Did not know that Fulham had a trip to Rotherham on the Tuesday night. Tough. Like you say Shirty they have it worse than us and most teams are playing 3 days in 8 days

Hopefully Solly will be able to feature in two of them. No chance of him making all 3.

It's what the squad is for.

Got some untested youngsters here who could spring a surprise if called upon.
  • Goodness me. I used to play double headers at the end of some seasons - one game after another. I think I played 5 games in 8 days once. Never done me any harm :-)

Good chance for WIlson or Gomez to hold down a spot in the starting line-up.

Everton had a Sunday/Tuesday/Saturday a few weeks ago, I think the Tuesday was in the League Cup away at Swansea. They had the option to play it on the Wednesday but opted for Tuesday so they could have more preparation time for the Merseyside derby on the Saturday.

    I don't think a one-off Saturday/Tuesday/Friday is really a problem tbh.
