That's probably wishful thinking on your part. I wish people would stop abusing the abuse button it's there incase it's absolutely necessary.stilladdicted said:''Twas Greenie and CAFCJoe but perhaps they just made a mistake ?

"Absolutely necessary"....this is a football forum not a UN conference on nuclear capability.sadiejane1981 said:

The only thing that makes me cry these days is Charlton. And the last time I had a tear in my eye before I saw this was when Jackson got the winner against QPR.
Chris Powell will forever be a hero in my eyes.2 -
Isn't the flag option available only for incase a poster said something perhaps racist, sexiest, threatening, or a stupid careless phrase that could get the admin(s) in trouble.

He did. I was actually surprised when it jumped to us and not Leicester... And then the amount of times he spoke and it cut to clips of us... Thats when I started welling up a bit... If Yann had been in any of the clips I would have taken to Gin.lordromford said:He talks about his first game in charge as being his first for us, but he had a game as (acting) manager of Leicester first didn't he?

One day he will be back and what a celebration it will be.10

Move on. This club is better for the fact that characters like Powell aren't involved.Valiantphil said:CAFC v Lisbon in Spain a few Summers ago - CP personally thanked and shook hands with every fan that had made the trip.

On an unrelated note, I rejoiced when my local got turned into a tesco metro4 -

Someone should let him know that one thing you can do to influence the game from the technical area is make substitutions before the 75th minute. #winkyface1

He'll be back with Hudders in Feb and if he so much as sneezes in the wrong direction , the haters in our fan base will be on him looking to criticise and if Hudders dare score or win or anything and he shows any sort of emotion or pleasure it will prove he doesn't really love us and isn't such a nice blokeBedsaddick said:One day he will be back and what a celebration it will be.
If they win , let him swing from the crossbar at the Jimmy Seed end and then do the tunnel jump ! For old times sake
(I don't mean the last paragraph above, for the sensitive among you twunts)3 -
I knew that anyone that was truly interested in Charlton would appreciate the link. I really couldn't care less about anyone flagging me.13

So those of us who just don't give a toss, and aren't "welling up" or "so excited to welcome him back", we're all not truly interested in Charlton?kafka said:I knew that anyone that was truly interested in Charlton would appreciate the link. I really couldn't care less about anyone flagging me.

Once Powell comes out for the start of the game I reckon the Covered End should start singing "Chrissy Powell's Blue n White Army"4

Isn't it as simple as this.
Those that don't have as much affection for Chris Powell as other charlton fans...don't waste your time by opening what was obviously a Chris Powell orientated thread via the title.
Maybe find something better to do with your time. Porn hub, bargain hunt, an old deal or no deal episode, you name it.
For example, If a thread title suggested it was something to do with cricket... I wouldn't bother opening it, as I don't give a toss about the sport, it's not particularly interesting to me.
If you can't understand why a section of charlton fans still hold Powell in high regard...then save yourself from getting involved instead of digging em out.17 -
Don't read it then. People respect the man for what he is and what he's done, without people like him football would not be what it is.Greenie said:It's all getting embarrassing now.

I'm not sensitive but I actually find Greenie's comments quite offensive. "Embarrassing". What is football about?! Whatever you think about his departure from Charlton, the man is and always will be a legend of our club for what he did as a player and what he achieved as a manager. It is completely natural for people to be interested in what he is doing an wish him well. I love the man and whilst many probably won't agree, I still hope that one day he'll be back but even if you don't that's no reason to criticise others for maintaining a respect and affection for him.
Jimmy Seed was sacked 60 years ago and we've got a stand named after him. Should we be renaming that the Bob Peeters stand and moving on from and forgetting about Seed's achievements? Football Clubs ARE their history and are nothing without it. I honestly cannot understand why anybody bothers following Charlton if they don't feel like that.22 -
Would you open and possibly contribute to a thread titled "Powell, not as special as some make out" or "Powell's shite does smell after all"Dave2l said:Isn't it as simple as this.

The opening poster never stated an opinion on Powell.PL54 said:

I would read it out of interest, but honestly....wouldn't bother commenting on it out of feeling sorry for the poster.PL54 said:

That man was 100% Charlton
The pride and passion he had was unmistakable
Not sure we have that in our team now?2 -

Players and coaching staff who have no passion?
Get a grip

I'm wondering if the negative posters on this thread even bothered to watch the film, or just went straight to the bottom to leave a "move on" comment.
Even if you have moved on, surely it's a pleasure to hear an ex-manager talk about his proudest moments in football are with OUR club.6 -

Secondly it is embarrassing. Some on here are like 13 year old scholboys who cant cope after being dumped by their first girlfriend. CP this CP that CP watch.....and comparing him to Jimmy Seed is just ridiculous.
Yes he did some good things for our club but thank god he was removed before he relegated us last season.
Those with selective memory won't remember that.5
