Arthur Horsfield at the Valley today, watching his grandson. One of my hero's.
Why's his grandson one of your heroes Kap? 🤔

My God he looks like deadly departed Addickted. RIP Nick.
  • Old fashion center forward who played 156 consecutive games for Charlton. Always powerful in the air and a good foil for the other striker. Partnered Flanagan and Hales . Ended up playing center half under Andy Nelson.
Last spoke with him down at a post office sorting center and signed a package I picked up.Don’t make them like King Arthur anymore. Cheers for the memories Arthur.

What a player. Strong, great in the air, the perfect partner for Alfie. If only we could turn back the clock.
    ...and the waistline...😉

Just a little jest...Arfur was a real favourite, and a really committed player, how we could do with another Arfur Horsfield at the club now.
  • One of the best, loved watching him
  • Boy, I have some good memories of him. King Arthur - he was dynamite in the 72/73 season.
  • The wonder of it is when he couldn’t be so prolific up front, he simply moved back to centre half and had a season stopping other forwards from being prolific.
An amazingly successful positional switch, like if Aneke’s future is as a goalkeeper!

Does his grandson play for us?

  • Pretty much the perfect hold up striker.
