Old fashion center forward who played 156 consecutive games for Charlton. Always powerful in the air and a good foil for the other striker. Partnered Flanagan and Hales . Ended up playing center half under Andy Nelson.Last spoke with him down at a post office sorting center and signed a package I picked up.Don’t make them like King Arthur anymore. Cheers for the memories Arthur.4

Just a little jest...Arfur was a real favourite, and a really committed player, how we could do with another Arfur Horsfield at the club now.0 -
One of the best, loved watching him1

Boy, I have some good memories of him. King Arthur - he was dynamite in the 72/73 season.0

The wonder of it is when he couldn’t be so prolific up front, he simply moved back to centre half and had a season stopping other forwards from being prolific.
An amazingly successful positional switch, like if Aneke’s future is as a goalkeeper!1 -
Bumped into Arthur last year at Lingfield races - what a lovely bloke - he seemed surprised that I recognised him but who could forget - he was a bloody good player - said he never wanted to leave Charlton
