The first stage of the season (regular season) is pretty rubbish as lots of teams (maybe more than half I think) get into the play offs.

The league is divided into two conferences, western and eastern. At the moment the western conference, with LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders, is much stronger than the eastern.
