Right now, someone is landing a robot on a comet 4 billion miles away at 40,000 mph! Anyone else following this?
Fascinating stuff!
yeah incredible. i'm not a fan of mankind but all the people who worked on this for 25 years what an amazing achievement. truly epic, hats off to them.
It's a great story, but seems a shame that the old problem of battery life could turn this into a damp squib. Also harpoon guns not working, Moby Dick will be pleased.
In it's present position the solar panels are only getting 1.5 hrs of sunlight each 12 hrs rotations instead of 6, if it could of stayed in it's first location.
But the Germans had already put their beach towels down, so had to move. I still feel it's a out of this world feel good story,
Even if we are caught between a rock and a hard place. (;<)
