Perhaps he felt that as a valued customer, they might like to persuade him,? Not sure of his reasons, but then nor are the club are they
I didn't renew for this season (due to changing work commitments) and the club must've made contact at least half a dozen times between June-September through phone, email and/or post.

For over 10 years we have held over 6 season tickets between us costing best part of 2 grand a season This year none of us renewed for the 1st time. Has anyone who didn't renew been contacted personaly by the club? If I ran a bussiness and suddenly lost 2 grands worth of repeat business I'd want to know why? Surely we were worth a phone call? Ok I know at the last minute we were sent tickets for the 1st game!

i didnt renew my season ticket? the club didnt call me? i wouldnt have renewed even if they called me? i got really angry that time they did call me? all i wanted to do was tell someone why i didnt renew? but im not telling anyone?

I'm sure the club would like your repeat Business and do not want Long term season tickets holders to not renew.
Maybe you could promt the club into getting you back on board and renewing your tickets.
Have You thought about sending an email to Katrien at the club and asking for a deal on a bulk purchase as an incentive to get you back as a season ticket holder.
Sometimes it's better to go direct and try to reslove an issue if you are not happy,

Not being funny mate, but seeing as the crux of your complaint is the club didn't make the effort to find out why you didn't renew, you must have thought when posting you would be asked why.you didn't renew?
I used to punch people at football matches for fun, I stopped doing that a few years ago, nobody from the club has called me or emailed me to ask me why I haven't renewed my punching. I really need to talk to someone.
