  • What's the lowest we've had for a league game in recent years? This can't be far off?

My record is possibly 3 when I went to Sweden in '89 and watched us play Boras AIK. Syd Cheesewright and friend, if I am not mistaken.................and me!
  • Credit to those going, went Bolton this weekend last year so feel I done my time then lol
  • Surely everyone remembers the memorable Bank Holiday Monday celebrations in April 2000 when the travelling thousands Charlton fans celebrated winning the Championship in style with one helluva party up at Ewood Park

Certainly do - Mr W managed to duck out of the way when Andy Hunt threw his boot into the crowd at then end, so the bloke behind us got it. I've still not forgiven him (Mr W, that is...)!

Was with solidgone , Svensson threw his boot at us and we threw it back at him.

I was one of the 167 that night. Hartlepool was like a ghost town full of empty pubs

We took a few more the following season to Oldham on the way to promotion though when it seemed like it was us v the rest of the world in the back of beyond and that plank Trevor Kettle reduced us to nine men. Waggy and Danny Hollands got their marching orders but we nicked a 1-0 courtesy of Super YANN on the way to that record breaking season as Champions. Enjoy the trip hope your lad sees us win, if not great character building. :-)

I really enjoyed that game. That was the day I remember thinking to myself we might just go up this year.

Agreed mate, the steely resolve shown that day and invincibility the team must have felt after the game sealed the deal.
  • Sticking my neck out and going for a 0-1 away win.
  • Remember a game against them up there in the early 80's. Must have been 81-82 season. I was all booked up on Lewis coaches for the trip but the weather had been really bad and the game was called off on the Friday I think. When it was re-arranged the there were no coaches or trains to get up there for the midweek game. I was waiting for the result to come through on LBC radio as there was no other way to find out back then. We won 2.0 and it was the the only game I missed that season. Also I think we only won 2 away games and that was one of them. Cardiff must have been the other one. Remember I was buzzing that we had won away but also gutted that I wasn`t there to see it.
