Not Curbs; never go back. Tony Pulis or Chris Hughton would have been good - but far too expensive for Duchatelet. My vote is for Jose Riga: intelligent, respected and personable.

Glen Hoddle would be brilliant--but I can't see it happening.

Six weeks ago it would have been Rowett. Now, it seems both Damian Matthew and Nathan Jones are highly thought of so maybe one of them. However, do we not need an experienced Manager, preferably one with Championship experience? So only one name on my shortlist - Nigel Adkins.

After everything the website has done for the club, I think its about time the club appointed someone that the Charlton Life community can unite and rally behind so I'd like to see one Andy Murray, Russell Brand or Paulie put in charge.

    Seriously, Jose Riga 100%

    Glenn Hoddle

Come on Heisenberg, this is a serious thread. If you're going to mess about with stupid suggestions the thread might as well be closed. (:

    Seriously though.

Got to be Curbs for me.
  • Curbs
  • Curbs with Matthew as his oppo to continue his managerial development. One of the best games I ever saw at The Valley was when Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison brought the Man City team they took up as second division champions to the ground. It ended up something like 3-4 with a young Colin Bell in particular outstanding. Mentor/ up and coming does work.

Jose Riga, He arrested a terrible run of form and developed raport with the players and the fabs under difficult circumstances and will know the majority of the squad who do respect him.

    Failed the height test.

would lend either of them my soapbox on matchdays.

He won't be at the ACON for long with Gabon, Freddy Bulot can give him the lowdown on the squad and Roly please note he played for Standard after he played for Charlton so he ticks that box too.
He'd be a massively popular appointment with we fans of a certain vintage.
Most importantly of all (all together now) "...he comes from Portugal and he chuffing hates Millwall..." what's not to like?
Oi Roly, get Katrien a plane ticket to Malabo, she can draft his contract on the flight down there and tell her to do whatever is required to secure his services.
Meanwhile Damien and Ben will be fine holding the fort for a few matches.

See Patrick Kluivert has entered the betting this afternoon. I reckon he could be worth a risk go.
