Good scouting for the best candidate Roly and co... liars.
Who would be on your list of potential candidates Athletico?
There's no point in any of us having a list of potential candidates. RD was only going to consider Luzon, perhaps Fraeye and Damien Matthew at a push.
He's not interested in anyone he doesn't know already, and no manager in this country with an ounce of credibility would consider working for him. All that stuff from Katrien yesterday about a thorough search was a pack of f#@king lies, which the more sensible posters on here would have seen through immediately.
Being honest I don't quite know what the boards vision for Charlton is, it must be to get to the prem but they make some crap decisions. They don't want to listen to the fans as much as they preach of that importance.. And try to pacify us by sticking a few red seats in the ground and getting network loans that are clearly not good enough bar a couple.
People are talking as if interviewing someone for CAFC coach is like interviewing candidates for the CAFC coach driver, like some face just walks in off the streets.
If you know all about a candidate's previous form and performance because it's public record, what is "due diligence" apart from listening to the variety of bullshit excuses for past failures and why this time it will be different. Verbal references from whoever has an opinion and has worked with the candidate will be two a penny and anything else you want to know you get from the internet.
Angst over lack of due diligence is mis-placed, RD needs to make a decision and if he already has made up his mind better get it over and done with. Digging out Katrien is uncalled for, it's PR, and PR only ever has an element of truth and is nothing to do with giving the facts about behind the scenes discussions on hiring and firing, matters on which, unfortunately, fans do not have a say.
Should RD set up interviews with the list of suspects just so he can say he's done due diligence? He will have done all the due diligence he thinks he needs to do given the criteria he sets for the new coach. If he gets it wrong again it will be nothing to do with lack of due diligence, just an autocrat being let down by his own self-belief.

They, the board of directors? It's a democratic dictatorship jake, what RD says goes, end of.
It RD money at the end of the day.He owns the club so can do as he wishes.I know he didn't buy the club to lose money though.Whatever he does I reckon he believes is in the interests of the club as well as making money.Sure he wants us in the prem as much as the rest of us!

Who would be on your list of potential candidates Athletico?
Curbishley is interested to talk. He has a pedigree in this league, one task (which is to beat a 9/1 chance according to the bookmakers) and avoid relegation. Then build on the team ready for next season.
If we were coming from dowsie, or pardont and a mgr with the win % he had and had managed a club like liege, but we weren't owned by 2chalets or had even heard of him, wouldn't it be an interesting left field appointment
Not the normal, Graham, curbs, applton nonsense
Would we still feel so fkd off, trust me I am fkd off with it but I think it's the only way to consider the appointment

Who would be on your list of potential candidates Athletico?
Probably more than one person at least.
Yes who???
Curbishley, Riga, Damien Matthew, Mark Bowen, Nigel Clough, Mark Cooper, Jorge Costa, Steve Cotterill., Billy Davies.
Not sure about Curbs- best days are probably past. Riga - good choice, could he repeat his success with us again? Mark Bowen - where is he now. Nigel Clough - failed at Derby or was it Forest. Mark Cooper - Who. Jorge Costa - Excellent defender for us. Is he managing in Europe? Steve Cotterill - no thanks. Billy Davies - already turned us down. Still looking for spy's. I thought Karl Robinson would have been a good shout. Not sure if any of the above would work as first team coach though as opposed to team manager.
