If anyone’s dreaming of a late-2000s Charlton-style implosion at Palace, they may want to temper expectations. We managed to make a rapid collapse into the third tier look effortless, but it would take an extraordinary level of dysfunction for our stripey neighbours to follow suit.
Just to the championship would be enough to piss off their support and get rid of the plastic palace fans.  Millwall, palace and Charlton in the same league would be a fun season (but quite unlikely scenario for various reasons).
With our luck, and the form of the clubs, it's looking more likely that Millwall and Palarse will be Prem and we'll be League One!

    That's the spirit
Hope I'm wrong but if I were a betting man, I know which one I'm more likely to collect on.
  • Agreed a deal to sign Strand Larsen for 45m + 5m add-ons.

He's got 1 goal this season.

That shows the gulf between our club and theirs. Mental amount of money for a middling club and player.

Apparently they might not even get Strand Larsen now and instead will have to rely on an unhappy Mateta as he's not going to be sold without a replacement in

That sounds like the sort of spending that got them into financial trouble before they got relegated the last time around and with typical charitable intentions on our part we had to help bail them out by taking 11k fans to Selhurst to the away game there. Probably won’t happen again…will it ?

Doubtful. Their net spend since 2020 is 'only' 190m.

Light years away from us, but that's pretty low in PL terms. They're a very long way from being in any financial trouble.

Sounds like it's collapsed because Palace didn't send the offer by the deadline Wolves set. What is it with them and missing deadlines for paperwork!

    Strand Larsen is proper pony.

    I wouldn’t take him for 10m

Suspect that was deliberate once someone thought about actually spending £50m on Strand Larsson for more.than two seconds.
  • Palace only name 7 subs for their game today. 2 of them are goalkeepers and 2 are academy kids.

I thought we had the whole of the Arthur Waite (which is just short of 10k) and a section of the  adjoining Sainsbury’s end.

Definitely not have part of the Sainsbury's end.

Watching Crystal Palace destroys my mental health as well lets try and convince the premier league to deduct points from them.

"McNeil's partner, Megan Sharpley, said the midfielder got "radio silence" from the London club on Monday evening.

In a social media post, Sharpley said a four-and-a-half-year contract had been offered to McNeil and that the pair had "prepared to move our life 100s of miles away" before having it "torn away" without explanation."

The pair of them should be thankful that they've dodged a bullet by not having to move to Croydon or Norwood.

It's quite strange for a deal to go that far and to fall through because the buying club failed to submit the paperwork and without an explanation to the player too.

Could it be that they pulled the plug because the Mateta deal fell through? McNeil, Johnson and Larsen combined would have made it over £100m in this window with just £20m back for Guehi.

As for Mateta, he failed a medical, is out of form and has fallen out with the management and fans. And his value will go down come the summer with just 12 months of his contract left. Delightful.

Apparently they tried to switch it to a loan move at the last moment.

Maybe the explanation was via another email address she forgot to check....

love to see Palace falling apart and criticised. Made my week.

I've just seen that and it was changed to a loan with an obligation to buy following the Mateta move falling through. Presumably a cash flow issue. They have the similar deal in place for Guessand.

So it appears that Mateta has a knee injury, one that he has been playing with and requires surgery. Mateta obviously knew this prior to his medical and presumably Palace did too in which case they might have been  trying to get away with selling damaged goods. Mateta must now decide when he had that op and whether that timing will adversely affect his chances of making France's WC squad.
  • Can't even unit people these days. Games gone. #fuming

Now back to regular content of Palace fans embarrassing themselves:

A 5 year banning order would be a suitable punishment for both.
