Boxxxxks if we was not good enough last year. Why are we better this year.if he can't even get a game at Blackpool what makes him think he good enough for the mighty charlton. He a shaun Wright philps in disguise. Bench warming money grabbing tax avoiding scrounger .fxxkoff off back up north. We want people who want to play for the shirt who will try and give 100% .

So we'll put you down as a maybe
    Ops humble pie time.

What happens at the end of the season when everyone's contracts are up again? Do we build yet another squad each summer? Not really long-term planning from Roland is it. Good signing.

Some people are never happy! haha
Fair point though I think. To be clear, I'm happy with the signing. I'm not happy with RD and KM telling us they have a long-term strategy but then contradict that by signing players on short-term contracts and player turnover in the last 14 months.
I don't think these players are particularly part of the long term strategy... I think they're being brought in to do a job till the end of the season and then we will look for younger more long term options...

With Johnson and Eagles the last thing you wanna do is give them a long term contract... With reports off attitude behaviour or whatever.. A contract till the end of the season gives them a chance to prove they're up for it and earn another contract...

Good replacement for the injured JJ. Pleased with that. I reckon Phil Chappell's recommendation....

Only if he's any good though; if he's a disaster then it was a Guy Luzon recommendation :-)

I came down Monday, trained, had a fitness test and everything was alright. Then on Wednesday night I agreed to it. I just wanted to get it done.

“I’ve had a great feeling about being here, it’s a massive club.

“I’m over the moon to be here and as soon as I knew they wanted to sign me it didn’t matter what they offered me I just wanted to be here.”

He's already lying like the rest of them

Good signing I think....if he can get back his old form then it could well help us escape the relegation battle. What about the other guy training with us Alou Diarra...any news?
  • Just need now to get a decent hold up CF as back up/ alternative when needed to Watt & Vetokele.

This is a victory for you Colin, shove it in their faces and then celebrate by laying into Jackson, you deserve it

What should we do then give him and Johnson 3 year deals and they get injured by March?

They have to prove themselves to get a contract, like the others.

I have a feeling that some of us, perhaps including me, are now foolishly criticising even the good things that happen.

Let's hope he makes a good start like Watt and Johnson.

Over 50% of our squad now British only 8% Belguim

What about from the Belgium leagues? What about the amount of British players that have been moved on?

    Ahem....

The 29-year-old been registered in time to be considered for selection in Friday evening’s game against Wigan Athletic (7.45pm) and will wear the number nine shirt at The Valley.

    What about for away games?
  • I'm pleased this has happened and really hopes Chris can show us all what he can do
(Stick the winner in against the scum Chris and you'll become a charlton legend for life).

I dont think its the actual nationality of the players that people are complaining about is it? Certainly not my issue. More their network origin and quality.

Please with Eagles signing to be honest, think he'll be a handy addition as long as he fights like Watt and Johnson have so far.

The Eagle HAS landed and welcome Chris. I am as pleased with this signing as much as with Johnson's. Eagles is a versatile and experienced midfielder/attacker.

Does this all mean that Duchatelet is taking advice from Chapple and the other English scouts ? .. I hope so .. Eagles and Johnson are two shrewd and much needed signings, players with extensive experience of ENGLISH football with good clubs
  • Quality signing. Really pleased with this and think he will improve our season.

You just relay what Ketts reports on his blog.
  • Think he could prove to be our best signing for years.
  • The bloke has probably never even been to Belgium - what the hell are they playing at?

Excellent signing provided he drops the alleged billy big bollox persona.

Watt is a really bad boy and negative influence as well isn't he ?

This, and both the subject of seven figure Premiership transfers earlier in their careers at £3m and £4m respectively.

You are like a moth with a naked flame aren't you? You keep getting burnt but can't stop yourself coming back for more.
