Whisper it quietly but....

...is it mathematically possible we could send Millwall down with victory at the New Den?

Oh how I would love that!

I don't think it's possibly unfortunately. More worried that they haven't won a game in a while!

    Sadly not.

    They'd only have won anyway.

We can't but bugger it if we win, this will sound very good.

"la la la la la lala"
" we helped send the millwall down! "

If they lose at brentford and we beat reading on Saturday, we are garaunteed to finish above them.
I won't be keeping that to a effing whisper, should it happen.

Whats that coming over the hill, it's relegation.

I don't think it's possible to relegate someone by losing against them

Well, come the end of the season, if they got relegated on goal difference, we could claim we got them relegated by only losing by three goals when they needed another one!

Say Millwall lost their next match to Brentford Away on Saturday and then to us on Good Friday us they would have 32 points with 6 matches to play. That means they'd have to be 18 points adrift to be mathematically relegated.

Rotherham and Fulham have a game in hand which they play tonight, plus matches this weekend and on Good Friday. If they were to win all three they would both be on 49 points, and thus 17 from Millwall. Brighton have a game this weekend and on Good Friday. Provided they win both of them they'd be on 48 points and thus 16 points from Millwall.

So unfortunately it's mathematically it's impossible.
