    Mick Russell will take charge when Charlton host Cardiff City at The Valley on Boxing Day (1pm).

    The Hertfordshire-based official has dished out 46 yellow cards in his 16 games so far this season, brandishing a red on two occasions.

    Russell last refereed the Addicks in the 1-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road in September in which he showed yellow cards to Rhoys Wiggins, Tal Ben Haim and Igor Vetokele.

    The game against the Bluebirds will come exactly a year to the day since the referee last officiated at The Valley when he oversaw the 3-2 success over Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day 2013.'
