It finished Charlton 1 Brentford 1 at a warm and sunny Valley. The pitch was like a bowling green and the players made the most of it in an entertaining game. Charlton started well and Ahearne- Grant had an early chance but instead of taking a shot himself he decided to square it and the chance was gone. Brentford had much the better of the First Half and took the lead when Trialist Josh Staunton passed inside to Terrell Thomas who lost the ball and the Brentford player tucked into the right of Dillon Phillips.
Brentford were on top for the rest of the half and Phillips made three good saves to keep us in the game.
In the second half we were much better with Ahearne- Grant and Charles- Cook prominent. We got a deserved equaliser when Archie Edwards galloped down the left to cross for Kennedy to finish at the far post. We had another couple of chances for sub Browne and Ahearne- Grant but a draw was a fair result.

A brief report from todays game against Brentford, if you want more it is on the Brentford website
Brentford’s Development Squad ended their season with a home defeat against Charlton Athletic.
The Bees started slowly and found themselves a goal down inside 20 minutes.
But they fought back, ended the first half well and dominated long periods of the second.
Goals from Kyjuon Marsh-Brown and Tyrell Miller-Rodney put Brentford 2-1 up with 20 minutes remaining but two soft goals late in the piece cost them the win.
Charlton probably deserved it overall and in striker Karlan Ahearne-Grant they had the game’s most dangerous player.
The 17-year-old, who has played in the Sky Bet Championship this season, put Charlton ahead 17 minutes in.
Charlton Athletic Development Squad: Dillon Phillips; JP Rylah, Josh Staunton, Harry Lennon; Terell Thomas (sub Levander Pyke 79 mins), Anfernee Dijksteel, Kieran Monlouis, Archie Edwards (sub Rhys Browne 70 mins); Mikhail Kennedy; Karlan Ahearne-Grant, Austin Lipman (sub Jack Munns 89 mins)
