I just wish that one day we sign a player I've actually heard of, without having to rely on someone reporting that he was pretty crap on Football Manager, or watching some blurred video of him scoring his only goal in five years seventeen times from various angles, then watching him celebrate ridiculously in slow motion whilst some euroband plays "exciting euro-rock music" in the background, whilst his teammates walked slowly back to the halfway line looking suprised but indifferent and scratching their nuts.
Oh for the simpler (but at Charlton unfortunately rare days) when you were genuinly excited to sign someone you had heard of and actually seen was GOOD, like Clive Mendonca, Darren Bent or Ralph Milne. More often hearing we had signed some useless clapped out reserve on a free or £35,000 from somewhere like Millwall, Rotherham or Southend in the hope he could last to the end of the season before hanging up his boots and leaving to run a boozer.22 -

Agree on the striker front. It's the centre back and left wing situation that is rapidly becoming critical. Need a couple in today to have them ready for the last few friendlies (the CB will need to get game time alongside Bauer as it appears from last night that Diarra is not a champ centre back).3

It's pre season , we've also seen him have plenty of good games in defence but I do agree we need a centre back and left mid soon but there is still two weeks untill qpr, so aslong as we've got them in before then, I'm confident we'll have 2-3 before the Bolton game.DamoNorthStand said:Agree on the striker front. If, as has recently been rumoured, we are signing AS Nancy defender Clement Lenglet then that's another CB sorted.
