Luzon interview after game saying still looking for 2 more players. I guess that's just a repeat of the last interview, but still encouraging. Would love another striker and a winger, but practically will probably be a right back and a winger.

It's a striker I want to see although I doubt that likely until January and then only if Igor can't get back to full fitness.
I can see the basis for a very decent squad that might not need much addition in the summer which might leave enough money to push the boat out on that 20 goal striker.
When Guy et al were planning signings for this season I'm guessing they were assuming Igor would in the equation. Increasingly it is looking like he is going to be missing for a while. I would guess, in light of Igor's continuing problems plans are being redrafted. Hopefully a striker is now on the agenda, I would guess a loan. I am really disappointed that we seem to have lost Igor as I've no doubt fit and firing with decent players around him he'd get 20 goals.
Others? RB cover is a must as is an out and out left sided winger. If Lenglet comes in that sorts RB and gives us another option at CB.
Suspect Wiggins not moving on will have created a budget problem which might delay things.
Ultimately IMO the squad has been improved and we are in a better position than this time last year. If we can get another 2-3 over the line in the next couple of weeks and we make a steady start I can see us having a very good season.

So with a week to go, the positions we need to fill are cb/rb cover, third choice keeper and a left winger - given the number of players released I'd say we've done pretty well.
Obviously don't know how the new guys will take to the championship and igor is a concern but all things considered I'm very happy with how the summers gone!
Without seeing them over a few months in the Championship I am more than happy with our signings so far. Think most of our budget must be gone now and we will only bring in players that fit, yet don't break the bank.
We are in a similar situation to you Piggie. Spent a fair bit of money with a chairman willing to invest, with most new signings coming from abroad. Our clubs seem to be tracking each other closely over the last few years
Heard a whisper that we're one of a few clubs interested in Will Buckley... Dunno whether this would mean we've dropped our interest in Henry, or are trying to get Wolves to push the transfer along?
Adam Le Fondre is set to leave Cardiff City this week, manager Russell Slade has confirmed.
The former Reading striker spent the end of last season on loan at Bolton and both they and Sheffield Wednesday have been looking to sign Le Fondre on a permanent basis.
“There is likely to be movement next week and there is a chance it is a club up north showing strong interest,” Slade is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“From the player's point of view he is desperate to sign for the right club in the right geographical area.”

Not in Sunderland's squad for the friendly today. They're definitely looking to offload.

I may have just made that up.
This deal must be dead.
