If it must be Pennant and not Henry, can't we give him a 3 month trial contract with a 1 year bumper one after that if he passes with flying colours.
Like @Mart77 says... Is a difficult balancing act in case other clubs sign him but... Its what we did with Eagles / Johnson / Diarra last season which worked out quite well so it wouldnt surprise me if that happened
I would rather see the young kid from daggers than pennant or Henry. Fits more the profile of buying young to develop and potentially sell on
Henry or Pennant would be available and good enough for immediate first team selection. Jodi Jones is still two years from getting into our starting eleven.
Would love to sign him but let's not confuse why we are interested in both.

Agreed. Jones would go into the development squad I would think, we would not be selling him on for several years - he'd have to make the step up to the first team and then be pretty consistently impressive enough to get serious attention to warrant a big enough fee to sell - a very big ask and however it plays out any hypothetical profit is at the bare minimum two or three years away realistically. Signing Pennant and/or Henry and we'd be signing a player to fill a gap in the squad right now as it stands - an attacking threat down the wings so that JBG doesn't have to do everything himself all season.
Kevin Nolan has been released by West Ham, would be decent.
He'll be waiting to see where Big Sam goes next. Probably find him sitting beside him as a Sky summariser.
Haha - this very much. I've always imagined Nolan lives with Allardyce. At night he sleeps at the bottom of Allardyce's bed like a dog.
In the morning he brings Big Sam his gum, when Allardyce is done chewing ferociously, Nolan gathers up all the papers and used gum and buries them in the back yard.
When Nolan has been good or he's happy, he does his chicken tonight dance, Allardyce rubs his belly.
Comments
Middlesborough are yet to confirm if they have accepted the £40 million offer from Charlton.
That's how to rumour.
PENNANT SET FOR CHARLTON MOVE?
Charlton could move for former Liverpool and Stoke winger Jermaine Pennant, reports The Sun.
Guy Luzon's side currently sit third in the Championship after an unbeaten start to the season.
Would love to sign him but let's not confuse why we are interested in both.
Henry = Former Millwall
Difficult choice
with Henry coming to the valley.
You and Kelvin then................... Any others?

Too old. He should stick to writing the match reports for the SLP.
