I would love this, but why would Leige sign a 24 year old and loan him straight out?
Pretty much did that when they signed Jonathan Viera from Valencia last summer... He only played three matches for Liege before joining Las Palmas in January
Will Wiggins ever play (to his best) again? There's a left back at Leicester who is out of contract in the summer, some bloke with a foreign sounding name, Bulgarian I think: Paul Konchesky. Surely he's still fit enough to do a good job at our level?

Lots of players could "do a job at our level", but will they take a drop in their £30k a week wages in order to do it????

My wish for next season regarding Strikers (same us 99% of Fans ?) A fitter but same skill level from Tony Watt. A fitter and Better skill level from Igor( like the first 10 games this season)
A 24 to 28 Year old Mobile Target man who can head the ball but has good feet. ( Can we have the number 9 shirt back from the museum please Henry)
A young pacey striker who will be a great athlete as well chipping in with goals Do we take a chance with a Jed Wallace type( has he got pace ?) from League 1 or 2. (big step up from L2 in Jed's case)
KAG should be in the squad from Pre season as this season was too early.
Plus IF IF JBG stays, the attacking options would look decent.
You must have 5 striker/forwards who are of Championship standard, if you want to be decent in the champ, we would have to take a punt as Roland would not pay out too much on established players.
Even thou Church was a nice feller, i don't want to see a situation when a similar standard player is our 3rd striker again.
At university In Portsmouth so have got to see Jed Wallace a number of times. Young winger who is great in some games and goes missing in others but then again which wingers dont. Definitely could make it in the Championship and is a damn sight better than Harriott. My only real frustration with him is his eagerness to cut inside to the point it becomes predictable for the defender and everybody in the ground.

Sound like a younger version of JBG ?
Must be worth a punt ?
As Bulot and Johann might not be here next season. Or even to replace Frederic, even if JBG stays.
Do you want players to "do a job", so we have another season in mid-table?
Or do you want us to be pushing for promotion?
If the later, we shouldn't be looking at ageing, journeymen, footballers.
We signed Diarra in January, but I don't consider some one who has captained his country, and played in a World Cup Final, as a "journeyman".
Surely we want young ambitious players who want to play at the highest level, not ageing players looking for another pay day.
If they are being released from Championship teams, I'm not interested.
What message do you send to Fox and the other young left backs coming through the academy if you sign a 33 year old Paul Konchesky?
"Sorry, boys, we don't think any of you are any good, none of you will make it, so Sod off now..."
How about someone like Simon Francis who was pretty much released by Charlton in League One and is now a Premier League player?
So you'd re-sign Francis then?
No... I'm just saying that just because someone gets released from one club doesnt make them a shite player.
(1) They could have been released because like JBG they dont want to renew their Contract and want a new challenge.
(2) They simply didnt get on with the Manager
(3) They didnt fit into that teams style of play... Simon Francis didnt fit in at Charlton, he's gone to another club and has ended up with a Championship League Medal and was in the Team of the Year.
Flip the situation on its head and just because you splash cash on a player doesnt make them a better player than what a freebie can cost (Veron / Shevchenko are perfect examples of transfers gone wrong)

Whatever, let's just dump the academy and buy a load of ageing professionals.
Besides Wallace, no-one has come up with a single young player that would take the club forward
Its not like going into a shop and going... I'll have that one, that one, that one, nah actually not that one he's too small, ooo almost missed him I'll take him too seeing that he's on offer
Ok here we go again.....(fingers crossed he hasn't suddenly been sold since the random thought popped into my head).....we are a few CBs down so if they are to come from this country how about Dan Burn? Yes he may cost a bit but we do lack height and he is young enough to improve, especially if Gomez does go.

Definitely a work in progress so not at that level yet but being a few years younger I see no reason why in a few years he cant be at that level. However definitely not as good as JBG at free-kicks.

Expect his wage demands to be high, and some good clubs to be in for him.
Not what you would call a target man, but he was very good in the air. Will have fond memories from his time here before which may help us out a bit.
A long shot, but would welcome him back.
