Dean Chandler - thought he played more than 3 games for us, but then again maybe his name is more prominent in my mind based on the big news he caused when he tested positive for cannibis along with Lee Bowyer.
Something tells me he scored one goal in those 3 games as well, away at Reading on last day of the season at Elm Park? I was only 7-8 at the time so can't remember for sure.
Correct Tom. I was 13 at the time. My first and only visit to Elm Park. We lost 2-1 I think. The beautiful green and purple 3rd kit was used 94/95 season

Last game of the season on a Sunday afternoon live on LWT. Scorching hot day with one of the youngest Charlton xi's on show.

Lee Harmsworth was a kid who found himself plunged in for our thumping at City as they clinched promotion back to the top tier in a packed ground steeped in character and history (no, not the airline one). Poor sod froze in the headlights and never appeared again. He looked about 5'6" and never earned his own Solly-style song.
I read at the time that they were considering starting with Gritty in goal for that game.
Really? Just shows how stretched things were. One tear at Pompey we listed Tommy Taylor as a sub, the equivalent of including Alex Dyer under Chrissy.

Love all the highlights from this era. My teenage years forming my bond with the club. Used to have all the end of season videos from 89 onward to the play off season. Was really happy when the 94/95 season highlights were posted on the RIP David Whyte thread. I should get all the others I have on VHS converted
Danny Mills - his lad attends Hurstmere and at parent evenings he's generally swaning around in a Fulham tracksuit so I guess he coaches one of its academy teams
Danny Warden not Waldon wasn't it. Big hair, winger? I remember him for some reason, I was only a lad and there for his debut (only game?). New players always excited me then as you had big expectations/dreams....too many 'Danny Wardens' later have left me somewhat more cynical!
Barry Little was a relative of mine, after dropping down the leagues he sadly passed away. Curbs seemed to really like him though, and even came along to the funeral. Shame he never made an impact during his time at Charlton.
I seem to remember him making his debut at QPR & us getting stuffed 4-1. Probably incorrect. RIP.

Johnny Oostergard scored an absolute belter at Wrexham if I recall correctly. We still lost 3.2 and got done by them 6.0 in the FA Cup.
Those games against Wrexham were held in quick succession and I went to both of them. In the league game, which was the second one, we were two up in the first fifteen minutes and still lost. I think that the 30 yard screamer from Oostergard was his only goal for us. In the cup game we left when it was 5-0, got back to the car and put the radio on to hear a guy confirm that Wrexham had put the game beyond doubt by scoring the sixth.
Yes I went to both as well on Lewis coaches. After the lame surrender in the cup game we all thought we were going to win the league game as we went ahead but in typical Charlton fashion we threw it away lol.
As for the cup game. That was beyond doubt once they scored the 1st goal lol. The other 5 were just a bonus for them.

I don't recall Steve Jacobs or Marcus Smart.
I saw the Steve Jacobs game. Played right back away to Lincoln in the League Cup (won 1-0 Robert Lee). Jacobs had a reasonable career at Brighton and Coventry.

Yeah. I didn't bother going to Lincoln, because I knew they would be relegated from the Football League about 25 years later & so it wouldn't count towards the "92".
I thought Simon Royce was a brilliant keeper for someone so short. Surprised we never kept him as number two when we signed Deano. Just looked on his Wiki I seem to have no recollection of him resigning for us in 2003.
agreed, he was my favourite player back then as i was a budding keeper at the time and wore the flurescent yellow goalkeeper shirt we had. I remember wanting to buy fifa 99 for my playstation and my parents asked me to write a list why i wanted it, top of the list wasnt that you could play as charlton, but because simon royce was in it.
