Bromley FC are awiting the ooutcome of the tie between between Hayes of Conference South and Billericay Town of the Ryman Premier Division. Would be good to get Welling in the 4th Round.
Bromley completely outplayed Hayes of the Conference South. The score was 3-1 but may have been 5 or 6. Right three shots hit the bar ! Looks like Goldberg has got the team playing well. They are in the 4th Qualifying round and top of the Ryman Premier by 4 points.
I beleive the draw is on Monday for the next round.
Clevedon Town or Hitchin Town at home if Welling win.
Gravesend are away at Chelmsford City, Bromley away at Grays Athletic, Fisher at home to Salisbury City, but the highlight's got to be... Exeter v AFC Wimbledon!
Seen Bromley a couple of times this year and doesn't surprise me. Goldberg and his brother in law are pumping the money and they have the likes of Bobby Bowry and Simon Osbourne playing for them. Good passing football as well.
Not a great draw but Bromley can get a result at Grays. Would have gone had it been at home.
Goldberg hasn't put a penny in yet Henry. All the doing of the Chairman so far.
They have just fitted a spanking new clubhouse / function room there. Their target is to raise turnover from the current £300k a year, to £1.5m a year within the next two years.
They have ambitious plans for that club. Hope they are not trying to run before they can walk.
Same Goldberg. The palace connections are worrying but plenty of Charlton and Millwall down there are well.
From what I was told they were both putting money in. I've seen the new bar and it's very impressive. Also built new five a side pithcs for hire so planning to go raise money away from the gate. Ground already meets Conference standard other than number of turnstiles.
As I have told you in the past Roth, there are very few CPFC fans at BFC. It is suprising I know ! Come to think of it, out of the 20/30 of the lads behind the goal , that make the noise,I can only think of two that are Palace fans. There are more Charlton and Millwall by far.
Grays have had a bad run, Bromley are on top form. Could the romance of the cup takeover ? I think it would be very silly to write Bromley off completely.
AFC Wimbledon = big headed, ignorant completely to non league, think that other clubs should bow down and worship them, deluded - I could go on forever
Henry re Turnstyles - There is an old set by the side terrace/bromley times end that have not been opened for years. Should they go up (fingers crossed) they are likely to be reopened.
If you are wondering why I take a keen interest in Bromley - aged 13,14,15 it was an ideal and cheap way to watch football when Charlton were away. Followed Bromley for a long time in my youth and still keep a keen interest in them. Know a lot of the Bromley fans who go home and away and it is a good laugh standing on the terraces with a beer in your hand watching a game. Im down south for that weekend anyway. Im pretty sure than rather spending £200 or so on a weekend in Newcastle I will settle for going to Grays and getting behind my local team.
There's plenty of big-headed AFC fans, sure, but I tip my hat to them for getting off their arses and starting again from the bottom. And if you'd steamrollered the past two leagues, it'd come as a quite a shock when you finally started hitting decent sides again ;-)
I'd feel the same about FC United, but I can't quite get past the fact that it's full of Man Utd fans who've only just realised their old club wasn't some sort of socialist enterprise for the good of the people.

I was the same with Welling mate. Once you have a soft spot for a club, its very har to lose it.
well done Welling. looked like there was a few away fans when I went past tonight. think it must have been half time as the off licence was doing well!
Henry I think you'll find that AFC Wimbledon supporters believe they have a right to be in the league as they were in the league before there place was taken away from them and given to MK Dons .
I think what they did and are doing is nothing short of amazing , still maybe they will get their pace given back to them when the franchise scum go bust and take that horrible little man Winkleman with them.
Question for you then , did you think Charlton were wrong to cancel the friendly with them when the fans protested?

Welling got Clevedon or Hitchin in the next round obviously as long as they beat Hornchurch on wednesday

A balmy night in Welling ....

AFC Wimbledon = Man Utd of non-league :-)
AFC Wimbledon are pretty much the real deal.
Shame that the Bromley v AFC games both clash with CAFC games as I was planning to meet up with our mutual friend Kevin from Supporters' Direct.

Welling at home to Clevedon next, and with Charlton on the box at Newcastle at 5.15, me thinks its going to be a nice little Saturday day out !!
