Dessert catering for an event - inspiration needed

Anyone know of anything a bit different or novelty in the catering world that specialises in desserts.
We are doing a Corporate event that is for kids and adults. One of my staff has come up with the idea of liquid nitrogen ice creams. As cool as it looks it's also £1200 after VAT and that works out at around £10 per ice cream and only one per person.
Just wondered if anyone had been to a wedding or event recently that had seen anything a bit different.
