Lack of signings is worrying me

You forgot the JBG rumour as well @seriously_red (+ basically anyone decent in the squad).seriously_red said:
This time last year we had about ten players on the books and there was panic amongst the faithful! Then Vetokele showed up 24th June followed by the rest of the crew. Right now we have around 20 players on the books with doubts about the quality of three or four. And rumours that Buyens won't return and Bulot needs a bigger contract to stay. And rumours about Gomez being sold of course.ShootersHillGuru said:
Easy for you to say but Wednesday have a gazzilionaire owner who can buy whoever he wants whenever he wants and Rotherham .... Actually you're right about Rotherham.seriously_red said:If we have it bad, imagine how they feel at Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday with just 13 players on the books?!
What matters is the calibre of the signings we make in the next six weeks.
Posters on here squabble over the number of additional quality players we require but they essentially fall into two camps - panic about our fate and Que cera cera!
Two things we know is that M.Duchatelet can afford players but he probably won't pay many millions. My point is that there are many Championship clubs in the same boat as us - the question is whether RD is prepared to pay the going rate and go the extra mile to complete what looks a fairly decent squad rebuild to date. What we don't yet know is whether they aim to finish 12th again or try for the top eight?
Why do people have to fall into one camp or another ? Surely people mostly are a mixture of opinion.2 -

Geezer must be on a wind up0

They can, they just sign a contract dated from 1st July. Liverpool have already signed Ings, Milner and Bogdan. I wonder how?Crusty54 said:Contracts usually run until the end of June. Players can't sign for another club until they are out of contract.

You can get a coach over on the ferry from Belgium in a few hours, just fill it with a few surplus hangers on at the Standard Liege training ground and were sorted. So theres really no need for concern.1

I'm too busy commenting on threads about lack of signings to worry about who we've missed out onsouthamptonaddick said:3 -
They're pre-contracts because their old contract at their previous club has ran down.LargeAddick said:

Charlton can do the same but if we're not going for high profile players the newspapers arent going to be interested reporting on it, that means we may have signed someone on a free but it can only be announced come 1st July when the contract has expired.
Hence why as well you've not see a Milner / Ings press conference or generic pictures of them in their club shirts holding a scarf0 -
Breaking news..........
Two new signings for CAFC ?
Robin and the Red Knight.
I hope their a good partnership,
and not just a pair of fly by knights ?1 -
Once it's agreed the club can announce it, e.g. when we signed Zak Ansah in early June last year.ForeverAddickted said:

I'm more worried about the potential leavers and the lack of an established core, meaning it seems to be a near complete rebuilding job each time, surely you can't help build a winning team, can't hit the ground running etc, altho sometimes with strikers not always a bad thing to be a bit unknown. I guess we'll see who we manage to retain.
Edit: well worried is a bit strong to be honest, if I hd to express a concern that would be it3 -

Lack of wins so far this season is worrying. Never mind we don't play our first competitive fixture until August, we should have some points in the bank by now surely?
Roly/Luzon/Powell out.6 -
I'm worried that you're having a go at a man who may have used the wrong word. Maybe he is concerned about the lack of signings.mrbligh said:I find it ridiculous when people say they worry about things like this. Worry? Really?
I worry about things like my kids health, the government cutting the fees involved in my job so much that I might get the can, my family
I'm dissapointed when we have no signings and our best players get sold, but worried?
Naaaa. Get a grip man2 -

When my main worry is CAFC, this is a good thing ?
It's means that the Ebb and flow of everyday problems have abated for a day or two and i can focus on my true love.
You can change your socks and pants,
you can change your wife or partner,(or they change you)
you should never change your football club.
Let's wait to the end of August before we panic.1 -

lets buy loads of players without testing their ability and get in loads of loans so we're not threadbare next season. Doesn't matter if they're all shite, at least we will have a squad.
Then we can buy one good player for the quality factor and loan him to Standard.0 -
