I couldn't agree more. I'd only ever wear a club shirt bought when its reduced at the end of a season to lounge about the house in, but its been years since i had one.MillwallFan said:
Correct. We all find it all a bit strange grown men wearing replica shirts. Especially if the grown man in question is a bit rotund. Trying to squeeze in to a sports top that was designed for a professional athlete. Haven’t worn one myself since I was a kid. It’s just not something we do. If you go to the Den it's usually only kids you see wearing the shirt, with the occasional adult, and if you see their away followings, no one wears one.
And with the constant never ending quest for clubs to squeeze more money out of fans it annoys me that clubs release 3 new kits every season. A lot of clubs have no real need for a 3rd kit anyway but have to wear it X amount of times for contractual reasons. For example why do teams like Norwich and Watford need 3 kits?1 -

Does seem clubs are leaving it particularly late this year. Wonder if that's supplier hangover from the World Cup or something.

Some clubs even produce shirts of the quality players wear, I cannot recall the term used. So you have two diifferent 'versions' of the same top, at a greatly increased price as well.

Brentford FC reveal new home kit for 2026/27 and 2027/28, continuing the club’s commitment to affordability and sustainability through another two-year rollover.I missed this when announced. Great to see a team continuing with a double-season kit. Personally think this should become a new rule for Premier League and EFL sides.10

I guess someone might have mentioned it before, but I hadn’t realised until last night that Wolves have changed their badge this season to the original Wolverhampton city crest.
Apparently it’s part of their 150th celebrations.
Feels a bit odd them not having a wolf head on their shirt.1 -
For a club with so much cash behind them, Birmingham’s kits are proper budget template stuff.2

I first saw this one I went to watch the Mets back in about 2012. They had four versions of the shirt, with the most expensive being $200 and I honestly could not tell the difference between that and the cheapest version. I asked why the difference and he said one was the original replica and the other was what the players would wear. There was not even a slight difference in the design, and you could barely feel the difference in material!As an aside, over here is snide city for football tops which the VAST majority of fans wear. You can pick these up for 40 reais(£6).When many people are on the minimum wage of 1500 reais a month these shirts are colossal money.
