Interesting that we've decided to use first team players in this competition this season, I wonder if it's a response to Gillingham going back on the gentlemans agreement to only field under 22's in the final last season (and still losing) ?

Think the agreement was kids and senior players looking for match fitness/coming back from injury. The timing of the Gillingham game was not for those reasons. Although I stand to be corrected and nowhere near 100% sure.
Oh really ? I was sure we only played u21's last season.
Dont think we needed to play Senior Players in the competition last year as dont think fitness or injuries were such a big issue whenever the matches were played (other than Vetokele of course)... Correct me if I'm wrong though

Just seen the highlights, looks like Nick Pope was between the sticks for scary on our first goal !
  • I hear Gillingham are at it again. Played a load of first teamers against Dartford this evening.

Karma strikes again though as Dartford ran out 2-1 winners!

Last season, yes. But I have seen Matt Taylor, Hayes and a few others play in the tournament. Usually, when coming back from injury...

Draw made - Charlton will face either Bromley or Whitstable Town in the next round (their game was called off yesterday due to a waterlogged pitch)

Take 3 for Whitstable v Bromley tonight, with the game now moved to Hayes Lane so I'll be there scouting who the young Addicks will face in the 3rd round.

Phoenix 1-2 VCD at half time. Long journey for the away fans! Must be one of the shortest ever?
