Aren't all police recommended away pubs awful ?

There are so many superb Derby pubs it's untrue.

Yeah probably. Wanted to be in the mix with Charlton fans though and instead we were basically on our own.

Earlier in the day we had got into a Derby pub by saying we weren't football fans and that was a lot better, should've stayed there.

Agree that the Brunswick and the Alexandra Hotel were both absolutely first class. Went back to both after the game and also got a draught beer carry out from the Alexandra for the train. We also liked the Silk Mill Ale & Cider House (good food), the Olde Dolphin Inne and the Exeter Arms (from where we got a rapid shuttle bus to the ground at about 2.30).

All really good pubs and all very close to each other, the station and the ground. Cheap and high quality beer in each one. What more can you ask for.

In your case, someone to push you to the ground from the bus stop in a wheelbarrow after all that beer? ? Sounds like a great expedition that.
