Those who were there, what did you make of the performance?

Can only be a good thing to win 4-1 with four different scorers, surely.

A stroll in the Valley, and a healthy one with more than half from the reserves...

I know he scored, but Sanchez was rubbish today. Anonymous. Like he couldn't be bothered turning up. Get rid.

    What was the attendance?
  • I was their and sat right behind the dug out. My views are thus:

    • Luzon is batshit crazy

    • I'm not really sure how much him and Jackson get on, everytime he asked Jackson to do something JJ looked disgruntled.

    • There was some good banter between Guy, Cousins and Johan about who wanted to play. (cousins and Johan both didn't seem to want to)

    • Bauer is serious quality, and Sarr is built like a tank. Think this will be our CB partnership in the future.

    • Popes handling when the ball was whizzing on the floor was worrying.

    • Great performance overall, and we looked very comfortable.

On this day six years ago, we got dumped out of the League Cup by Hereford. The likes of Kelly Youga, Grant Basey, Matt Spring and Wade Small were in our starting line up.

One of our lowest moments of recent times... tonight feels a lot better by comparison. :-)

Excellent controlled performance. Lots of passing on the floor. As mentioned above, bit concerned with the way Pope was handling low shots all evening. Also wish he would take the opportunity to initiate counter-attacks with quick throw out passes more often.

Agree with the view that it won't be long before Bauer/Sarr is the starting centre pairing.

A very enjoyable evening. We played some good, sharp, high-tempo football and, as the scoreline suggests, never looked in any danger.

The team were surprisingly cohesive, given the number of changes and there were several positives, in addition to not ballsing it up against lower league opposition:

    - debuts for two of our Academy lads and a first senior goal for Karlan Aherne-Grant, which will do him the world of good

    - debuts for Ceballos and Sarr and a first start for Bergdych. They all did ok and this will help them bed in

    - a good run out for Jacko

    - another outstanding performance from Tony Watt, who was a level above anyone else on the park

    - a dominant and composed performance from Patrick Bauer and a strong second half from Ba; and....

    - to round it off, a neat finish from the moustachioed devil, Reza.

What more can you ask for on a damp Tuesday night. I think that Luzon will be pleased with what he saw.

    Jodi Jones any good?

Nope. I didn't think much of him in the friendly and even less impressed tonight.

The players clearly don't want him to join either as they kicked him up in the air 2-3 times.

Was very much a stroll in the park. Don't get the impression that we ever got out of second gear.

Like the look of Bergditch and Ceballos was involved. Looked at home on the left and right.

Naby Sarr looked nervous to start with but grew into the game. For a big bloke he is very comfortable on the ball and surprisingly quick. One lovely Cruyff turn in the first half to get out of trouble. Bauer barely broke sweat.

Ba very lively and a great pass for Reza's goal.

Not sure what to think about Reza. Difficult to judge as the oppo were hopeless, but he looked interested and the goal was a lovely finish.

Pope's handling was a negative and I'd be surprised if Jacko starts 15 games this season.

All in all a decent £10.00's worth.

An interesting game. We didn't look at risk and it was only a matter of time before the opener, which came of course from our Scottish maestro making it pretty much on his own. KAG got the 2nd, finishing from a clearance. Bauer bossed the back - Sarr didn;t look as convincing IMO. Watt set up Bergdych for the 3rd in the 2nd half, and shortly after he and Bergdych were subbed for Reza and JBG, who both looked lively and combined well, though Reza had a few comedy moments (including falling over in the box and appealing). He did well for his goal though.
In between the subs and Reza's goal, Daggers pulled one back after the defence was asleep leaving the Dagenham player facing just Pope - not a lot he could do TBH. Pope overall had a more nervous game than Saturday's, with a couple of shots being spilled. He did also call regularly and come for balls and did a fantastic headed clearance when Jodi Jones was on a break with no defender close.
All in all, an enjoyable night. COYR!
  • Good result. The Dagenham fans were great.

Good nights work , moved the ball well , Jacko getting 90 minutes which he needs but only see him as a bit part player in the league this year , Charles Cook at right back thought the lad looked good plenty of pace.

    Job done with no injuries.
