  • Expected 5 points from the first five games. Some really great work going on. Not sure we have the squad for a serious push (who comes in if Bauer or Diarra get crocked?) but pretty sure its going to be better, and a lot more fun, than last season.
  • All been said above although I thought the big un up front was offensively tame for the amount of ball that came his way
    Love TWWW
But I'm finding some love for Bauer big time
That corner takes over from Bryan Hughes's effort as our worse ever corner absolutely shocking
We grafted hard to get that point and yes we were taking our time as best we could and if the shoe was on the other foot I wouldn't be crying about it like most footy fans on the receiving end do .
Decent atmosphere from our fans and you could feel the stadium move when all the Derby fans to our left bounced , it was proper
More than happy with the point and start we've had .
My 5 year old slept the whole first half on my lap and awoke as the half time whistle went and asked has it finished yet !

    Automatic promotion 0.5% .......... 3rd-6th 6.5% ....... 7th -12th 60%....... 13th-21st 33%...... The big "R" 0%
  • Take the point we didn't play well today rode our luck at times, didn't keep the ball to well in first half , kept giving it away cheaply , better 2nd half could av got a couple of goals on the break JBG should av hit one that fell on his right foot and Mak hit one straight at the keeper, good point well done lads.
  • Comment from my Derby mate who was at the game:

"My headline would be: 'blockbusters'. We deflected your goal in with one and you made an incredible number of blocks. Chances-wise on another day we would've won but things opened up second half and your 32 as you told me was quality."

Wasn't there, but would like to know about the kind of impact Mackienok had on the game. I would guess that away at Derby is a tough ask in this league, and we were far from mashed and beaten up, we had previously lost 8 and drawn 3 away in the league at Derby since a 2-0 win in the Premier League days. Lost the previous four or five in a row up there. has to be a very good result whichever way it is sliced.
Their guys said we were dead on our feet near the end which might be a worry, perhaps as a team we lack fitness? I don't know.
Pretty content and satisfied tonight. Well done to Guy Luzon, all the players, and the travelling support, who could be heard quite a lot.

    No PWR?
  • I got the impression George Thorne ran the game a bit. Think he could be a good player this lad if he can now stay serious injury free

Wasn't he unable to break through at West Brom and let go? I keep hearing big things about him and it makes you wonder why a team at the lower end of the prem couldn't find a place for him.
  • Think they paid about 3mill for him
  • My question is who is going to score outside of Watt or JBG If we have playoff ambitions, we desperately need either Mak or Igor to become a solid secondary scorer and others like cousins/ba to pitch in. I am still not completely convinced this is going to happen

  • I don't think anyone is completely convinced. As they say, one game at a time.

according to their manager we weren't going to score for a month of sundays until a wild shot from Watt toot a wicked deflection and went it. We also wasted time at every opportunity over throw-ins and goal kicks.

is this true - can somebody who was there throw some light on this......

Who gives a toss did he mention about Ince diving every chance he got one which led to the free kick for their goal

    Bet not !
Considering he never dived and Bergdich knocked him over your comment is irrelevant
My mum wouldn't have fallen over with the contact being made on Ince, but we can only say as we see. Watt gets much less protection from refs just because he's not a powder puff and much rougher contact on him went unpunished just because it's mostly around the penalty area. No consistency.

Mackienok as a forward was for me poor , defensively did ok .
  • Cellaboss wot the f--k was that corner all about , really embarrassing hopefully he won't do that again .
  • For a start he has the ball on completely the wrong side of the box was always gonna fail with that, it's school boy stuff even the players in my boys under 9 team know where to place the ball for a corner
  • A very good point against a side that looks a contender for automatic promotion.

A mixture of extremely good defending and a small amount of luck achieved this result. The whole team was very disciplined in it's job and Luzon should take a lot of credit for that.

Yes, Derby had a lot of possession and shots but they were restricted to only a few genuine chances. Indeed we wasted a few chances of our own particularly when we had break always in the second half.

We were chasing the ball for long periods so I hope the boys can recover sufficiently for Tuesday.

I'm feeling particularly generous on the beautiful sunny Sunday morning in Cheshire so I'll come to his defence. To me it clearly looks like a planned training ground move where it's an attempt at a very long 'short' corner - it's a deliberate side foot pass and the Charlton player at the near post (can't make out who it is) is already making a move towards Ceballos - he's trying to play it along the line and he gets it wrong by a couple of feet.

Ok - it was a shit corner!
  • From the commentary, sounded like the pressure on us was almost relentless? What were the possession percentages anyone?

4 points from those two opening fixtures and still in all the cups on 15th August...

    Yuck!
I know, sorry. I confess I did feel a little bit dirty searching for it but it seemed appropriate.

    Derby 68% Charlton 32%

Oh dear! On another day that could have been 0-3 then?
  • No we'd never have kept a clean sheet ;-)
  • It was a brilliant corner play, just poorly executed. Had the pass been better it would have opened the defence up... Definitely worth trying again...
  • I realły hope CC can get that out of his system quickly, with a peach at Forest, I hear they do wonders with the digestive system.

It was top quality corner play, are you a spin doctor?
