    I'd favour a laser spotlight, only turned on when a penalty is awarded. More efficient that way

    (In all seriousness, the penalty spot is essential for any goalkeeper to know where s/he is)

    Think it's more of a case of reducing costs, to mark the penalty spot out was a two man job. They're just cut the middle man out.

    A circle uses less paint (though not necessarily). Need to sweat those assets.

    Also, how come our corner flags are not triangular anymore? Did they forget we won the FA Cup?

    Maybe the Penalty Spot was added... Just some young lady / gentleman decided to 'score' on the pitch again whilst the paint was dry.

    We'll have to keep an eye out down the Valley on Tuesday, if someone has a round circle on the back of their coat then we know what happened
