He's so right about a lack of aggression when attacking balls on set pieces.
You watch Johnnie Jackson and see everything he does technically is spot on. Including his heading. He never pussies out of challenges and strikes the ball brilliantly.
And he has a football brain. I wish some of the basic stuff he does like I've mentioned would rub off on the others more
I don't think JJ will or should start every game. He is 34 now. (edit 33)
When Kashi is fit then I expect him and Cousins to be the starting pair.
The point is that JJ still has a lot to offer. Always had even though some people were writing him off 4 seasons ago. Were is Colin today?
He is a class player, leader, motivator, passer, defender and goal scorer at this level. And he has the experience too that we need with such a young squad.
Colin's busy telling Glynne's list it was Bergdich and Moussa who made the difference and Jackson nearly cost us the points with his reckless play.
But he won't say it on here because he knows he'll be laughed out of town
Henners, chill, it won't be the first time or the last
I wasn't picking a favourite, just one that hadn't been done yet!
That QPR goal is my favourite ever CAFC goal. Never seen anything like it in the stands, mayhem. I ended up four rows in front of my seat with multiple injuries, absolutely worth the hobble back to the car. :-)
I've another important Jacko moment that doesn't seem to be mentioned much.
But he scored the winning goal in the game against Watford that kept us up at the end of Riga's reign.
We looked like we might be in trouble after Deeney scored a ridiculous goal, and then JJ ghosts in and bundles it over the line. The man of the moment once more.
Cardiff was special as well, turning point of that season, trouble is so many have short memories on here of what this guy has done for us on a regular basis. LEGEND.
Once he retires I really hope he stays on as a coach. We would be fucking brilliant in that role. For that last ten minutes, I think it's safe to say that we got a little taste of the Charlton of old. Everything from him coming on until the final whistle just felt right. And I wasn't even there. We really needed that from Jacko. Club Legend

Absolute iconic moment for me - and my son, as it was the first time he'd ever seen Charlton win.
Another worthy of a mention is a headed equaliser against Blackburn the previous season - an unusual one as it came within 20 seconds or so of missing a penalty. On this occasion the infamous "lack of pace" really came into its own, as he was still standing on the penalty spot!
Assuming he was fit enough to play, I wish that he'd been involved in the playing team this season - and believe that, had he been, we'd have a better points tally than we do. He's correct in his view that the team has not capitalised on set-piece situations. JJ, a clever footballer who gets 'stuck in', is in his 30s. That's good! Stanley Matthews played into his 40s. Ability is ability. And in JJ's case, that's both a footballing brain and evident leadership qualities. If JJ's fit, play him!
Jj won me a small fortune with those 2 free kicks in consecutive weeks and 2-1 wins bookies gave me same odds both times had my money back since though We have been missing a leader like jj all season To many of our current team can't read the game and have no footballing brain Jj read that ball perfectly
Some of those comments (i.e. Saying that Tony Watt is a thicko and that there are many smart players around the club along with his nickname being Legend), you could see not going down too well in some places, reckon at Charlton with it being Jacko he gets mocked about it in the dressing room and just creates that perfect relaxed atmosphere amongst the players
When Hermann scored against Chelsea on Boxing Day, our daughter was expecting Will although she promised to name him after our Icelandic hero when he put the ball in the net.
This afternoon she gave birth to Will & Pippa's baby brother and I'd be over the moon if he was named after my favourite Charlton player.

Away at Hillsborough. The magical freekick that shows the division that WE are the club to beat. 0-1

Eventually he came on and we know what happened and it made me look all nice and clever in front of my girlfriend, so thanks Jacko :-)
Bolton at home 0-2 down

In fact that 1-2 away win as part of the FA cup was also amazing. What an atmosphere there was that night.

Nice Jackson interview here
(Yeah love him as well)
It's really not that hard.

Jackson Edwards .....
Sounds good to me !
