You honestly think a coach/manger would leave a full time role at a club to take up a temp role at another club? Get real

This is the statement, with Olly Groome credited with writing it.
Olly is clearly Charlton through and through, and a good bloke however I have highlighted part of it which I find hard to believe Olly wrote without instruction. I urge you to have a proper gander at those words.

Charlton have appointed Karel Fraeye as Interim Head Coach, the club confirmed on Sunday evening.
Following the dismissal of Guy Luzon on Saturday, the 37-year-old Belgian will take temporary charge of the Addicks’ first-team while the club undertake the process to appoint a Head Coach on a permanent basis.

With former Assistant Head Coach Damian Matthew and First-Team Coach David Martane also departing following the 3-0 defeat to Brentford at The Valley, Fraeye will be joined by fellow Belgian Wim De Corte, who joins as Interim Assistant Head Coach, and the duo will take training for the first time at Sparrows Lane on Monday.

Fraeye, who holds a UEFA A coaching license, has previous experience of the club having masterminded Charlton’s upturn in fortunes alongside José Riga at the back end of the 2013/14 Championship season in which the Addicks earned seven wins and three draws in the final 16 games to secure safety and an 18th-place finish, seven points clear of the bottom three.

The Interim Head Coach, alongside his assistant, De Corte, will now prepare for Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium (3pm) as Charlton search for their first victory in 10 league games.

  • Seriously expect us to believe that two men would up sticks, leave their jobs and relocate to another country and club for a temporary position?
    Laughable

It's possible if they were promised prominent roles under the new Manager.

Tipping point reached. I love the club, I really do, and have done for 30 years. But the people running it now have turned us into MK Dons.
    We're a beige, bland, nothingness.
    Enough.

I know that passions are inflated at the moment. Goodness knows that the shower of stupidity that runs the club now have made some stupid mistakes. But what exactly is wrong with them appointing an interim manager while they search for a permanent one? I cant really see what alternative they have. If the new guy does a good job (to be defined) then keep him on. But if a better, permanent manager can be identified and recruited in the meantime, then all to the good.

Why is hiring an interim manager a "bad" thing?

For someone as rich as Roland it's quite amazing how he constantly makes bad decisions.

Poor players signed on long term deals, paying off staff and player's contracts. Signing overpriced rubbish , selling good players on the cheap. Investing in the training ground and stadium improvements but won't shell out to keep the first team competitive.

Why couldn't they have kept Guy Luzon on as the interim whilst they start a search from a blank sheet of pap......
    Oh.

What a joke club we have become. Do they really expect us to believe this shit anymore.
oh well, at least we'll be able to cross with Portsmouth next season and ask them how to rebuild it from the very bottom.

I'm even starting to hate Belgium chocolate...
  • In 10 short years we've gone from the way to run a successful football club to to the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

After 54 years I'm hanging up my rattle and scarf.

Good luck to all those who stay aboard the Good Ship Pinocchio.

I fancy Park View Road may soon see an up turn in attendance figures.

Sadly whoever wrote the statement is a fool. I cannot believe a true Charlton man would be responsible for that utter crap.

It appears some people will do anything for money.

"Masterminded Charltons upturn in fortune" is an insult to our intelligence and quite simply wrong.

The circus rolls into town again with even more clowns than before.
