    Wow ! That's some post, cabbles !

The comparison between RD & JD is spooky ! Please tell me DuPont's empire crumbles around him at the end !

Like you, I won't boycott games but I'm up for protests and Henry's Black & White scenarios.

And I'm withdrawing from my seat on the FF as of now. No great loss as little of any note is acted upon as a result of these meetings as most fans will acknowledge. I now live over an hour's drive from The Valley so that's one of the reasons but primarily, it's a "hitting our heads against a brick wall" time once every 3 months and I have better things to do with my time.

IF KM goes ahead and arranges a Club event to " celebrate" the end of another season & the players are not allowed to attend the annual Supporters' dinner, then that's that. But if common sense prevails & she acknowledges that this long standing event can continue with the Club's blessing then I'm happy to be Ian Wallis' sidekick again. Only time will tell.

Depressing & very worrying times but , like cabbles, I'm confident that White will overcome Black & we'll get our Charlton back, however long it takes.

Let's do our utmost to ensure it's sooner rather than later and that the damage done by then isn't beyond repair.

    Keep the faith.

Thanks for all your efforts over the years trying to engage for the fans.
    Yes, my thanks too Fanny.

with regard Fraeye I do find it conceivable that he has left a 'job' to help us out temporarily. I mean, managing the Dog and Duck Second X1 hardly pays well and I doubt he even has a contract. It is also the case that he is probably still on a retainer from RD so bringing him in is inexpensive. At the moment I will give RD the benefit of the doubt and assume they are going to undertake a proper process to find a long term successor. At least Fraeye knows the Club, would have been different if we were talking of a complete outsider with no knowledge of us or the league. If we do this properly and appoint say Lambert, then great. If we win our next three and on the back of that Fraeye gets the job then maybe he deserves it but if we don't and he's still appointed anyway then we would have been mugged off.

At last, a voice of reason!</blockquote

Totally agree, no one left at the club to run the first team affairs, lets hope that a decent length of time will be made to appoint a permanent manager that will the right decision for a good number of years and in the interim I will still give my support to the team as it was at the Valley on Saturday for the first 15 minutes

What people are failing to take him s it's a caretaker role , if he does well the. He deserves the job if he don't then a new man will be appointed ... People are saying about the players well they know him they spoke very highly of him and is training methods before so this not a problem
and he was only a coach at the his club and not manager he may have done the caretaker role there for a short time not sure but he had a manager and asst above him

54 years old and still believing fairy stories...
  • I've not read the rest of the comments, but I'm guessing we all feel the same. Frustrated, annoyed, upset, and pure anger towards Roland.

I didn't renew my season ticket this year due to the weird feeling I had for the team, and it didn't feel like the team I grew up supporting......this has just proved my decision was right. I know the club can't grow without the money from tickets sales etc, but I'd rather spend time with my family than line his pockets for the moment.

The worst part about all this...................trying to keep up the fight to make my 6 year old son support us. Not an easy battle right now.

Cant wait to hear how many CVs KM read through before deciding to upgrade Karel from interim to perm because he was the best candidate.

Absolute joke of a club. It would be only slightly more ridiculous to put someone in who had done well on Football Manager

That would be a good performance on football manager more than Fraeye has achieved!

Bloody hell that's even worse, we have now appointed a 'Head Trainer' as Interim Head Coach!! As he had a manager above him, that must mean they were both culpable in his teams poor performances this season!! 12th in Div 3 regional.....blimey!!

  • What the hell does Karel Fraeye know about Championship football.
Probably less than BP and GL and look where that has got us!

How did the bookies know that Carol was odds on favourite to succeed Luzon within minutes of the initial dismissal? Must have been an insider tip-off.

I posted last week on one of the Leeds/Rosler threads that we are as much a basket case as Leeds and that we would probably have 3 Managers within a one year period (again)....... one down. two to go, and I suspect that might be three in six months.

Colin 1961 and others who support this appointment - you are missing the main point. When looking for a new manager to appoint, every other club does not limit itself to a small pool of people within a network.

We do. Thus, we are missing out on decent managers out there.
  • If you were a conspiracy Theorist you would believe that Duchatelet was trying to compete for the title "Biggest basket case in the Football League" along with Leeds. I have written long diatribes on the flaws of this network but am running out of steam. The longer it goes on the worse it gets and unless we can get rid of RD and his dozy sidekick it doesn't matter who is coach, they will never appoint a proper manager as that would cost too much money. As for this mush good luck to him because he hasn't a chance, never coached at any level, couldn't give a flying fuck about the club and it's history he is like half the jokers on the pitch just taking the wage packet.

At least when Phil Parkinson was in charge you felt like this was still Charlton now it feels like another club in another country. God forbid but I am beginning to think that the best outcome long term is relegation so that wanker Duchatelet sells and gets out of our lives forever. In the meantime, despite having a season ticket, I won't be arranging my Saturdays around Football I'll just go if I have nothing else to do.......had enough me after 54 years this is definitely the worst situation I can remember and I include the Selhurst days in that.

We struggled to find a buyer last time we were in League One. It's ok to say he might sell if we go down, but to who? If we go down it's more likely that he'll pull even more of the budget thinking that it will be an easy task to get promoted again. We know how difficult League One can be. This lot still massively underestimate the how difficult the Championship is, imagine how bad it could get if they do exactly the same in League One.

God it's so depressing right now...

I've got Charlton to the Prem many times in CM on a tight budget. Sadly, I'm unavailable, I don't work for cretins.

    Is that right? Surely not?

If so, he's gone from collecting the bibs and putting the cones out at a regionalised, Belgian, third division club to picking the team, setting up the side, dictating tactics and responding to events during the game in one of the most difficult leagues in the world? Ha, you'll be telling me next they aren't even pro's!

BOYCOTT next home match & Don't give RD any more of your hard earned money. He knows that your loyalty to the club lines his pockets. If you wanna watch them then go to AWAY MATCHES ONLY.

Well the positive is he could bring over a few players from his old team .

As for it being "pants season" that don't work Can't see anyone shouting out " he's behind you" Roland clearly isn't behind this football club

I had similar thoughts, although in my scenario Fraye (and the other guy) have been promised new roles at Charlton when a new long-time (ha!) head coach is appointed. The "interim" tag is real, we are genuinely looking for a more experienced head coach and Fraye left his previous role because he is guaranteed to still be ok here.

That's my straw and I'm fecking clutching at it.

    Only two problems:

    1. the guy RD/KM do eventually appoint is likely to be yet another 3rd rate european coach who'll have to toe the circus line, work with an under-talented, demotivated and incomplete squad - and of course be very lucky to last a year. No chance of a new head coach worth their salt, of ANY nationality, wanting to be the latest fall guy for the circus clowns.

    2. What job will Fraye then get? Assistant Head Coach - maybe ok-ish. Chief Scout/Head of Recruitment - not exactly covered himself in glory on that score before, has he?

I love my club but I wont be lied to and taken for fools which is what seems to be their plan.
On a lighter note RD cant have many Managers left to roll out or does he? Perhaps he then goes down to the kit men to take over!

Manager is what they call a sporting director, director of football or whatever you want to call it - someone who does the recruitment, while the head coach runs the current squad. Same as the rest of the European mainland and same as Charlton already, as far as the head coach is concerned.

Colin will you shut up your opinion is quite invalid as it constantly smells like cowshit is Km personally paying you to keep your head up hers and RD behind?

You need to see a doctor my friend
  • Totally disillusioned with it all now I hate the thought of not watching Charlton been going since 1971 but why should I spend my hard earned money when the owner doesn't give a shit. Only in football do you get this blind faith of which I am guilty off only before the Preston game we were in the club shop spending £100 !!. But now about had enough
