Looking it up Formula Equal were being headed by Craig Pollock, ex-BAR, and Lo is a millionaire who pretends to be a billionaire so I think he found out he's not rich enough. Panthera was another name that came up, not sure if they morphed into LKYSUNZ (Licky Suns?!)
Yeah I'd completely forgotten about Calvin Lo , although he seemed to go quiet after Forbes discovered his net worth wasn't what he was making it out to be.
Ollie Bearman will be racing FP1 in Mexico and Abu Dhabi for Haas - Going to be a strong contender for K.Mags seat in 2025 if he impresses this next year.
Lots of the teams already coming out and saying they don't want new teams, laughably Haas (who are barely a team) and Alpha Tauri (who are just a B team) among them, but also Aston Martin ran by Stroll, who only has a team in F1 because a few years ago the sport was in such a poor state that one of the teams almost went under, and he won the bid ahead of one Mr Andretti at the time. Interestingly, he was endorsing the entry last season, and a couple of teams said they won't get behind Andretti because they should look to entice a big manufacturer instead, only for Andretti to then partner with General Motors via Cadillac.
Some team principles have called into question how competitive an Andretti team would be too, like they're some kind of new start up, and haven't already run teams in Formula E, Extreme E, Le Mans, IMSA, and IndyCar.
The only thing holding back the bid is personal greed from the current teams, it'll get rejected and it shouldn't do, and I hope Andretti kick up an almighty stink about it
The other teams are not in F1 for the sport, they are businesses who have to fund a lot of expenses to remain competitive. Its not greed but they dont want to have to stump up more money after Andretti dilutes the money they receive. Personally I think they need to be looking more at the teams expenditure ie huge corporate hospitality units/ motorhomes transported around the world, ridiculously complex cars/bodywork and wings, and high staff numbers/ wage costs.
Or alternatively, why was George defending against Lewis when Lewis was on the faster tyre. Should have just let him go and retake the position when the soft tyres inevitably went off.
Really interesting race, something a bit different... But cmon, its not a good look when you hear how exhausted all the drivers were after that race... But money

Hopefully @QatarNapsy is right and having it at the end of November will help. Rosberg was saying beforehand that it was already one of the toughest courses, with drivers having to hold their breath on most corners because of the G-force. Sargent was obviously in a lot of distress and thankfully nothing bad happened.

Yes he's been given the car to do it in, and he's still an insufferable prick for the most part, but by God is he some racer
Reminded me of F2 with the amount of SCs , the Ocon/Hulk/Perez mess was just very odd.

I think that it's poor race management by Mercedes when their cars have started on different tyres.
