25/1 with SportingBet... Don't think we will but have had to have a nibble. 25/1 to make up a 5 point deficit is ridiculous

    exactly
I don't normally bet but have just put 20 on a top half finish.

I did Charlton top half and top 6, before the season started.

Just cashed out the top 6 bet & pretty much got my stake back :-)

    How!? Lol

If.... We get a result Saturday which is not impossible I feel the odds might drop a far bit. For that reason I've just placed £20 at 20/1.
Don't want to curse us, it's only 12th place we need.

I staked a whole £5 with bet 365 & happened to notice a cash out option of £4.75 yesterday, so I took it.

Mate, I make that the fourth bet you've placed on exactly the same thing.

I know about covering your bets and chasing your losses, but betting on the same thing four times is mental!

(by the way, good luck - really hope it comes off)

You're probably right, but I've convinced myself I'm the sane one and everyone else is mental.
To be honest my last comment proves your point.

Perhaps the bookies do know after all

Long season and many games to play. We could finish top half. Worth a tenner

When it gets to 140-1, I'll put a pound on at that point.

    What's it at now?

I made about £300 betting £75 last Feburary on us to finish top half. I then used this money and added £200 to put £500 total on us to finish top half this season. How ridiculous does that look now! Never again on Charlton, I always had the rule of never betting on Charlton but I broke it with disastrous consequences.

You wouldn't risk too much on top half next season either

And that's why there loads and loads of bookmakers.
They get it right most of the time where as us supporters think we have an inside line and are more knowledgeable.
When odds are giving returns of 10% plus, the bookies are really telling you something you should already know.
That said they may of miss judged the premiership somewhat but I'm sure they will turn in a profit this year.
    Mugs the lot of us.
