One of our own. I worked with Lester on and off from the mid 1990s as one of the key people - probably the key person, but I don't mean to disrespect anyone else - in the West Country supporters club, including putting on organised travel from Taunton and organising tickets for fellow exiles for big games like the play-off final.
Arrangements had been made for him to attend the Preston game, knowing it was probably his last, but sadly he was too ill to make it.

Many supporters in the Westcountry and supporters club based in Taunton. Recent meeting reflected on Lester's undoubted contribution as massive. Addick themed funeral Thursday 12th November 2015 @ 1.00 Taunton Crem - Charlton shirts to be worn and he will enter to Billy Cotton's "Red Red Robin" and sadly leave us to Covered end Choir "Valley Floyd Road"10

I met Lester for the first time at our Wembley playoff final in 1998.
He introduced me to the West Country supporters club, and was always willing to go the extra mile to be helpful.
So sorry to hear the news.

Went to one of the first West Country trips to the Valley in a minibus with Lester. Saw him at Cardiff which would have been his last Charlton game I think. He was laughing and joking pre-match. Will attend his funeral next week in Charlton Shirt as he requested.
Sad loss to the Charlton FC Community3 -
Massive loss. Always remember him getting a minibus that was red and white to travel to away games in. No mean feat in Somerset. I joined this forum just to say how dedicated he was to the CAFC cause. When I spent six weeks in hospital as a teenager with broken everything, he arranged for a get well card from the first team for me. One of my most treasured possessions. Thank you Lester.4
