I have thought for some time that the closest model to the one that RD is aiming for is to be like Crewe when they were run by Dario Grade. A club that survives by giving young players early experience and selling them quickly. This can be done in League 1 with less costs in players wages.
Surely it can't be done with a stadium the size of the Valley. High operating costs etc.
It can if you close the East stand, the Upper North and the Upper west. All could happen next season in the 1st division with crowds of about 6 or 7,000 (if we are lucky)

Indeed, though they'll probably just shut down two stands to try to reduce some of the costs.
throw taken.....they play keep ball....into the box....shot is blocked....cross comes in....they have it...jj defends well......here they come again.....shot comes in.....sarr concedes a corner
They have it, Jackson loses out to Barton, Boyd now, Lowton, ball inside, back out wide, in it comes, shot, blocked. Ball in again, defending well here, they still have it, MArney, chance, blocked for a corner

Well, that's cheered me up.
Except Crewe are dead last in League One and absolutely skint
Swung in, handball appeal, counter attack, BErgdich, out side to Solly, they get men back, JJ, Bergdich, JJ, overlap and Vokes comes back from attack to win the ball back and drive it towards our goal. All peeters out
Bergdich, the player who wants to leave because he is not good enough for us?
What a fucking state we are in!!! It was only a couple of seasons back things were looking up again. People were feeling good about Charlton again, enjoying making that trip to the valley reminiscing again to their sons about how many times they have walked under the bridge to get their programme, have a quick look at the rubbish brands in the club shop but still bought the kits for the kids and a car sticker and air freshener for the car. Getting to their seats early to watch the players warm up in anticipation of a Charlton win...................OH fuck, the good old times eh.......
TIME TO SORT THIS SHIT OUT NOW ROLAND, YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME PROPER FUCKING THIS FANTASTIC CLUB UP. AS NIGEL FARAGE SAID YESTERDAY.....................PUT UP OR SHUT UP, really meaning "FUCK OFF OUT OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Feel sorry for the hardy few travelling to these games. To fight well in a relegation battle you NEED experience, you also need squad depth due to the sheer amount of players, a good coach with experience also really helps. These things aren't much to ask for in the second tier of English football, we have next to none.
Fear Jan is leaving it too late, loans or journeymen in a late ditch attempt at most.. Painful.
We are enjoying some possession, Reza, to Fox, Bergdich slips so they steal the ball and attack. MArney has it, to Lowton, cross in to Gray ... comes off a defender and they have a throw
