Didn't Delle Alli go to Spurs for £5m, from a league below ours? It's sickening if he does go for £2m because it kills our last feeble argument, that we never get as much money as we should for our young player because of where they play. We usually produces defenders and midfielders and it's the attacking players that go for big money. Well, if it is £2m then we can scratch that one off. We just don't know how to get value for our youngsters.
If that is true that is Roland Athletic for all of us to see. We are fighting for our survival in the league and we sell a promising youngster after a couple of games. We may be a selling club traditionally, and I get that, but if this is the blueprint for Duchatelet Farm then that makes a complete mockery of what a football club is about. I don't want to see our youngsters for 4 games then admire them in the PL. I want to see them for as long as possible in the red shirt of Charlton. Is that really so hard to grasp, to understand you owners of Charlton Athletic?
'Lookman is likely to be the most coveted English teenager of this transfer window, even ahead of Coventry City’s James Maddison. Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have all watched Maddison, who would also cost close to £5m. Coventry, fourth in League One, hope that if they are promoted to the Championship they could ask for up to £9m for Maddison.'
Leaving aside whether the figures quoted are realistic, it reinforces once again the sheer folly of how the club is being run: player farm values are drastically reduced in League 1 compared to the Championship; no decent young player would stay at Charlton without a good first team coaching set-up; and openly presenting ourselves as a selling club will lower the offers we get. Not rocket science is it?
If we got 2 million plus add ons I wouldn't be majorly upset he's played 9 games there's along way to go yet before he's anywhere near the finished article
At the end of the day it doesn't matter how much we sell him for, Duchatlet has plenty of money but its clear he isn't going to invest any of it back into our squad
If we knew that money would go into a further influx of experienced players to keep us up, snatch their hands off but it's highly unlikely we'd see much or any of it. Oh how we needed his (Lookman's) directness and trickery with the ball on Tuesday, mind you getting it to him would have been an issue .
If Lookman does get sold thats basically 2 fingers up to Valley Gold imo, i know he didn't come through Valley Gold, but it just says to other clubs that we sell our youngsters for peanuts, and too soon, we are a joke of a club.
If the amount of clubs interested are as stated then surely a bidding war would be in the offing.
You'd think so, wouldn't you. But this is Charlton under the 2 clowns.
Spot on. RD and KF don't have the nous to get top prices for player farm sales. Palace showed how it should be done with Zaha. Kept saying they didn't want to sell so that United had to pay a premium, then got him back. Would never happen with the Belgium circus.
Chelsea rumoured to offer £5 million. Can see this happening soon whilst we don't have a manager in place as he will want to keep him, and if sold as soon as he comes would create friction between the KM and the new manager straight away. The only thing that could hold back the transfer at this stage is the fact that Lookman would be unable to pass any form of medical due to his injury and with Charlton knowing that this is prize asset they are not going to negotiate on the fee as he will be back to full fitness in the coming weeks, but this could be after the window closes.

How much would be peanuts for Lookman?
A very talented lad....who could have hamstring problems.
Hope he goes to Everton. Decent side, decent manager and the likes of John Stones, Bredan Galloway, Ryan Ledson, Ty Browning and Luke Garbutt have all come through under Martinez. Plus Everton are short a left winger so he'd get some decent game time. Worst case scenario he'd get some decent direction from David Unsworth in their u21s

Yeah ive got an Everton supporting mate and he said he's excited by the prospect of them getting him. Only bad thing for us would be no loan back until end of season.

Both in the Championship. And Norwich know that Bournemouth are desperate for an "established" striker
Reports from CAFC-£0.5m
Reports from Spurs-£3.5m
not a fact btw, just a prediction
I dont really listen to what Talksport reveals after that comment

The asset stripping starts here.
seriously, if there are other bids, surely we can ask for a better Price.
