A message to supporters of Charlton Athletic from the family of Sailor Brown

I find this so sad-my dad Sailor Brown(past player) would be turning in his grave to see how his beloved club is slowly being killed by mis-management.....supporters of this club have every reason to be questioning the running of Charlton FC and other clubs I for one think things need to be changed asap.....

Very touching post. Your Dad was one of my Dad's favourite players and he too would be as deeply concerned.

Apart from ourselves and future generations, we all owe it to the memories of our lost loved ones to fight on and save our club from these faceless cronies dragging us into oblivion. Fight the good fight!

It is posts and comments like this that must galvanize us even more. We cannot and will not let the current incumbents destroy over 100 years of history, it has been tried before when we were turfed out of our home, we won then and we will win again. For the sake of all those players that have passed, we must kick this megalomaniac out of our club.

My grandfather met Sailor a number of times and always said he was his all time favourite outfield player (coming second overall to Sam Batram can't be bad!). I've got a picture somewhere of them both, they both came from the Great Yarmouth area with my grandfathers family all being lifeboatmen at Caister.

I think we owe it to everyone who's loved Charlton both past, present and those who will do so in the future to make sure the club has the future it deserves.

I'm sure the likes of Sailor & Batram are up there with their black & white scarfs on cheering us on much like the supporters cheered them on.

This is exactly why we must rid ourselves of these arrogant, out of touch, incompetents. They don't know anything about us. They have no idea who we are, where we have been and where have come back from. Do they just assume the Valley has always been like it is now? Every single Charlton supporter past and present has earned the right to have that stadium. We have had to fight tooth and nail for it and will be doing that again if needs be.

I, like many others have been going a long time(1975) and I take great offence at suddenly being labelled as a mere customer with a weird attachment to my football team. I take that as a personal insult.

We haven't gone through all of those bad times for nothing. The foundations for success are in place. We must never stop until we have the right people in place who are committed to taking the club forward once again, however long that takes.

I don't enjoy going to The Valley these days but this battle is more important that my personal feelings and that is why I will be there at the Blackburn game dishing out some serious pelters and fighting for the kind of future for the club that we have all earned the right to expect.
